There's a lot of things wrong with this idea.

First, Toronto wouldn't do that deal, Boozer like Bosh is also a FA in 2010, it's essentially the same situation except they get a considerably worse player, with even less value. They signed Hedo in the hopes of building a competitive team around Bosh.

Second, Sessions is a RESTRICTED FA, thus with our ability to only offer the MLE, it's pretty much a lock the Bucks would match an offer like that.

Third, TE's and players cannot be traded in the same deal, so trading Francis AND a TE wouldn't work. Not to mention it'd be a sign and trade deal considering Francis isn't on the roster anymore.

Fourth, I'm sure if the Jazz could get Bosh for Boozer alone, they'll sure as hell not help us get Bosh (neither would Portland) and would rather try to acquire Bosh for themselves.

I do like the Rasho for bi-annual exception idea though

First, Bosh is said to want out of Toronto. Boozer on the other hand would be a player that would sign a long term deal with them (he's played in Cleveland and Utah, Toronto is a huge step up) plus they go even further under the cap this year.

Second, Bucks probably won't match, they are struggling financially.

Third, I was referring to the TE we got for the Steve Francis trade worth $2.6 million, not steve francis and a TE

First, how is Toronto a huge step up from either Cleveland and Utah. He's on a perennial playoff team in Utah, and screwed Cleveland out of a situation that could have resulted in already couple of finals performances for him. When did Bosh actually say he wanted out of Toronto, there's speculation of him leaving if Toronto doesn't approve, but nowhere have I seen him actually say he wanted out. The fact remains that Bosh and Boozer's situation is the same, both are 2010 FA's looking to get paid, and indicating with the Hedo signing, they're serious about adding talent to KEEP Bosh and continue to build around him as a franchise player. And besides getting slightly more under the cap is useless since the Raptors once again are committed to building around Bosh, considering they're still bound to use their MLE (they signed and traded for Hedo using a TE) and just extended Bargnani to a large extension.

The Bucks have made a lot of moves to have enough space to sign Sessions, I think with a reasonable contract such as the MLE, the Bucks would be (Please Use More Appropriate Word) not to match. With Bowen's contract not being fully guaranteed they've put themselves in a situation where they'd remain under the luxury tax is Sessions were to sign an MLE contract. They had financial problems, but with some of their recent moves, forgoing Charlie V's rights and trading Jefferson for expirings, then their financial problems aren't as blown up as they were say a month ago.

Third, that's my fault then for mis-reading.

Again, read my other point. Why would Utah or Portland, two teams we've faced in the playoffs the past couple of seasons HELP US acquire a player of Bosh's caliber. Portland who isn't shy to spending would certainly pursue Bosh for themselves, or the Jazz would use the leverage of a Bosh for Boozer deal to help them land more value. And alot of the Boozer rumors have to do with them possibly liking Millsap more, I'm sure they'd consider moreso of a player of Bosh's caliber that's value is certainly a step above Boozers.

I like the thoughts, but they aren't that realistic, I highly doubt Toronto would have interest in a deal like this where they don't get assured any more long term assurance and get a considerable downgrade in talent. And on the other end, playoff rivals such as Portland or Utah would help us acquire Bosh would be something I doubt would happen.

If we are to rebuild like the original post, maybe we shouldn't trade away our good assets like Scola and Brooks. To attract FAs to sign with us, we need to have a good roster of role players along with a smart GM. By keeping Scola and Brooks, along with all the other role players we have and Morey, I think this is an attracting team to be. After all, Houston is pretty big market and Rick Adelman is a pretty good coach to play for, and our jersey doesn't look too ugly.

Also, another comment: do we have the bi-annual exception? I thought we used it on Barry last year?

Scola is too good to leave.

I love Scola and Brooks also but wouldn't you trade Scola for Bosh?
