May not be a popular idea but Allen Iverson?

For one year?

We need scoring. Currently as constructed the Rockets do not have a first option on offense. AI can replace BOTH Ron and Tmac with his ball hogging and chucking. Why not?

With AI on the roster, i'll start Lowry over Brooks. AI will guard PG, Lowry defends the SG.

Lowry/Brooks
Iverson/Taylor
Battier/Ariza/Budinger
Scola/Landry
Anderson/Dorsey/Hayes

45 win team!!

The rockets brought in Ariza and Adelman promised to feature Ariza in the offense. With AI on board, not sure how Ariza can be featured regardless how good or poor Ariza can be. AI just does not seem to fit well with the current bunch of rockets (team oriented, no big ego)

It's better to be bad than to be mediocre , thats the same reason why we prefered Ariza over Artest , besides the fact that Ariza will get better and Artest will not.

I used to like AI when he was younger, so I can't bad mouth him. Even though I don't think he's right for our team, if Morey in his infinite wisdom decided that AI was the missing piece to our 40 win season next year, I'd support him.

For AI to provide value to our team, he'd almost HAVE to be brought in for 2-4m (or less), which I can't see happening in a million years.

I don't want a first option this year. How many NBA teams in history have not had a single go-to option? Has anyone every run a true Princeton? We'll be a truer team on O this year than the "starless" Pistons ever were. (describing them as "starless" always made me laugh - hadn't Hamilton, Billups, Wallace all been all-stars? I swear, modern media is the dumbest thing ever.)

It's only one year tank, don't worry, we are going all da way to the ship in 2010-2011 with Chris Bosh signing as FA and Tmac signing for the vet.min.

Brooks/Lowry/Lull
Ariza/Tmac
Battier/Tmac/Budinger
Bosh/Landry/Anderson
Scola/Yao

Plus the rookie we get in 2010 with one of the best picks.

According to the wiretap, Bosh may stay in Toronto.

AI would sure help the Rockets sell a lot of tickets in a year when both of their superstars are down. If you could get him for around $4Mil then I would certainly do it and move him to the 2.
