Spencer Hawes is unhappy in Sac Town We Should make a run at him. 7'0 245 Center here are his stats http://www.nba.com/playerfile/spencer_hawes/. What do you guys think? This works in the trade checker http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.ph ... id=5202504 but I bet they would rather have a draft pick.

King fans think the world of Spencer Hawes. Chuck Hayes isn't gonna get it done.....

But it may not be too far off. Remember how incredulous Kings fans (for the most part) were when we got Artest for "only" a pick, an expiring and an unproven rookie. Most of them were expecting a package like that along with 2 all-stars and the rights to Hakeem Olajuwon's name in the record books.

Oh its very very far off.
Chuck Hayes essentially has no value outside the confine of Houston. Even if you don't like Hawes, you have to admit that he is a young big with legit potential. Hawes is worth a draft pick from the #8-16 range. Unless you think Chuck Hayes is worth a lottery pick......

I would love to have Hawes in HOU. Man, he owned Yao in the early season last year, and is showing tremendous growth for a young big.

Guy is probably right, though. Hayes isn't enough to get him.

Besides, don't you want to see a Hayes / Hawes frontcourt?

EDIT: If only we could have a Rafer / Wafer backcourt to match....

i think he relies on his outside shooting too much. A few post moves, And hes not very strong inside. I don't think he wants to come to houston since he'll be second fiddle to Yao when he comes back.

wow....a run down injury plagued tmac is not worth hawes and martin....actually no one on the rockets roster would be worthy to trade for. maybe aaron brooks.

I apologize - I wasn't trying to say that Hayes would get us Hawes. I was just trying to point out that the fans sometimes expect much more in return than the actual GM's discuss. We're guilty of it too here in Houston. ;)

I'm just saying that to pry a guy like Hawes out of Sacramento it would most likely not require as much as their fans seem to think (and that goes for all teams).

i do agree. the point of these forums is for people to express their ideas for improvements of their favorite team. the majority of the people take a lot of criticsm seriously and thats what makes these forums fun and active. i cant say that GM's never look on these boards.

Yeah, this place became much more fun for me once I stopped taking offense at trade offers. A lightbulb went off and I realized that while they OBVIOUSLY don't understand what player X means to my team that I obviously didn't understand how they valued their guys, either. It is fun to speculate and every once in a while someone seems to get pretty damned close to an actual trade!

And if any GM's are looking on these boards let me say this: Mr. Pritchard - Brandon Roy is a lost cause. You should trade him now. To Houston. For McGrady. They will build statues of you in Portland and hail you as a God amongst men if you do this. Houston will gladly accomodate your quest for Godhood even tho we are obviously getting shafted.

(think it worked?)

what about this trade?

sac recieves: tmac, hayes, james white, chase budinger, jermaine taylor, kyle lowry and houstons 1st rounder

houston receives: kevin martin, andres nocioni, beno udrih

sacramento dumps salary as desired, they get mcgrady who can draw a crowd when healthy next year, and they get a couple of solid young guys to help rebuild, houston gets back udrih who can play the point, nocioni who is basically the runner up to shane battier every year for role player of the year and the big prize kevin martin

houston new lineup pg brooks sg marin sf battier pf landry c scola
bench udrih, ariza, nocioni, dorsey, anderson, barry, cook

but this deal does leave you without a true center on the roster besides david anderson, so if happened i would then try one of three things

sign oberto to portion of MLE

trade brian cook and brent barry to indiana for jeff foster

trade nocioni for gortat and jj reddick

This whole thread is bit on the [very] faulty assumption that because Hawes (a 3rd year player no less) skipped the Kings' summer league team that he's "unhappy" and "wants out".

What "solid" young guys? You're basically giving the Kings absolutely nothing of value (a bunch of 2nd rounders) and an expiring contract. Teams flat out DO NOT trade top-flight talent just to dump contracts. Not only that, but the premise that a team who's well UNDER the cap will trade their best players to further "dump salary as desired" is just myopic (at best).
