Good to here some news. Does anyone know how long/how much money the deal is for? I wonder why we haven't signed Budinger yet...
http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... h_houston/EDIT:
League sources told FOX 26 Taylor gets a two-year contract with club options for two more years.
Taylor's two-year deal is worth $1,505,871 which includes salaries of $725,000 for the first year and $780,871 for the second year.
The option for the third year, if exercised by the Rockets, is worth $884,293.
The option for the fourth year, if exercised by the team, is worth $942,293.

Wow, Taylor gets his contract before Budinger. wow.
I think Budinger is being packaged in a trade. Last time a rookie dominated the Summer League game for us, Morey shipped him to Sacramento....

I'm assuming it does because minimum salary contracts can only be 2 years in length.

Having watched taylor for the last 2 years, i can tell you he will dominate within 2-3 years. He has the potential to become the next dwyane wade. One word - unstoppable.

i think this is great for the rockets, idk about the budinger think i thought he would be the first on the list of rookies to be signed. but if taylor does good the first 2 i think he will be givin an extension instead of relying on the team options

What I thought he and Budinger would sign for, similar to Dorsey. Expect Budinger gets the same-unless as Guy986 points out he gets included in a deal,my first thought as well, but Taylor's in Hou working out w/Rockets' coach and Hayes and Dorsey,so it may just be he's here so a deal could be done quickly,still...
But looking at MLE,there's still room for Wafer or other player to get a decent salary.
Assuming Budinger signs for same, that's $1,450 on rookies,$2.5mil on Andersen, leaving $2mil for whoever. More likely leaving @ $1.5mil for whoever and the rest for an emergency signing if needed.
Looks like the team would like Wafer back at $1.5mil,but not for more.
Interesting that Taylor in one of his early interviews mentioned the Rockets had been watching him for 2 yrs,so they should have a pretty good idea on what he can and can't do.

2 player option years? Wow, there has to be something about him. Morey has invested so much money into our 2nd round rookies.

Taylor: What Wafer wishes he could be. Coming soon to a Toyota Center near you.
See you mo', you wore it nicely while you were here even if you're a scrub. In with the new and improved, out with the scrubbery.

Jermaine Taylor destroyed everyone in his hometown and surrounding counties in Tavares (AAU, Middle, and High School)... and NCAA Conference USA in UCF (and various All-Star and Invitationals over the Spring/Summer)... this guy is a D-Wade clone if I've ever seen one... make sure you keep developing his game, he'll break out soon, maybe not this year, but very soon

I really like the value of this deal especially considering the potential of this young guy. Great move by Morey (I think that I may have said that before...)
