with an interview at the end. very promising stuff, more good news is coming from tmac as the offseason goes on.

T-Mac: Yeah, yeah. [David's] physical therapy, just everything that he does. All his exercises, [stuff] he makes me do that activate different muscles and instantaneously I can see a difference. I can notice that some [stuff] is working and that's crazy. You go through the years and you try all these different types of strategies from other [physical therapists] and [most stuff] just don't work. Maybe temporarily ... but I've been here six months and my [program] has been consistent. I feel good and I haven't backtracked.

NF: So you can already tell you're coming back?

T-Mac: Already tell.

i rather him stay off the court until he is fully fit so that he will not have any excuses when he finally returns.

I agree I don't want anymore of this "I'm only about 90%" garbage. If T-Mac is ready to come back at the start of the season, great but don't even show up if you're not giving it 100%. It's like those t-mobile commercials where Barkley tells D-Wade "If you're not going to play better then don't even show up."

Who knew Luther Head was trying to help T-Mac:

"His former teammate Luther Head tried to get the 30-year-old to give Tim Grover and his staff a chance, but he was unsuccessful, McGrady was too loyal to his trainer of 11 years, Wayne Hall.
"[Tracy] asks me now, [saying], 'You should have put a gun to my head and made me come,'" Head said during a training session last month."

Most amusing qoute from McGrady:
"...every year pretty much, I came into camp in the best shape out of all my [teammates] so they trust that I'm doing the right thing..."

What comes thru is Tracy was loyal to his trainer, doesn't like changes and was really scared about the microfracture-scared enough to dump the trainer who-as he says repeatedly-got him to 7 All-Star Games. Plus he's got work to do on trusting his body again.

Well my Rockets spirits are lifted by this. I hope T-Mac can actually play a healthy season. He's 30 years old now. thats like 65 in NBA years. He'll never be 100% again, injury or not. So I just hope we can keep him around 90 and I'll be cool with that.

if he can play, he should slowly work his way into the rotation, whole month of november play no more than 25mpg. if all goes well he'll be able to play 40 min in december. if he has to sit out nov/dec, by all means..HE SHOULD SIT THE **** OUT!!! but ya the offseason keeps getting better for tmac :)

I trust his new trainers. Its about time he got real professionals. If they say he'll be ready to go by the start of the season then I believe em. Contract McGrady will beast this year...

Luther head should have pointed a AK-47 at him.

In other unconfirmed reports, Kobe Bryant tried to recommend a sports psychologist to T-mac too but he forgot to fly his F-16 over to McGrady's, hence causing the latter to reject kobe's offer.

Sid,
Look at photo 8. That's Tracy's back to right. The bulge appears very high on his body,so it's either protective padding or just a strange hang of jersey.
Overall from the back he looks very good and in excellent shape.(A co-worker who couldn't care less about basketball saw the photo and said it's obvious he's been working out.)
But at last his face doesn't look fat and bloated like it has the past few yrs.

Don't need the 'leaf' to be optimistic about an extremely talented player playing for that last BIG contract. Forget winning....McGrady will hire the best trainer in the NBA...train 7 hours a day just to get that last 12-15 million a year contract. Trust me if his knee is healthy he will average 30ppg this year on 48% shooting. Especially without Yao.

He will never be 100 percent from now and on, but the 80 percent Tmac is still better than 90 percent of the swing man in this league.
