O.T. Where to go in Houston

Post#1 » by kam_soluusar » Thu Oct 22, 2009 7:38 am

A friend of mine is heading off to the USA tomorrow to visit his family. and fortunately for me, he's going to Texas, (visiting Houston, San Antonio, and staying in Dallas, as his sister lives right near there.) I have asked him to get me an Andersen and Landry Jersey (Away/Red) whilst in Houston. He is going to go to the Toyota Centre, so I assume that this is the best spot to get me my Jersey's?

Any help on the matter would be much appreciated. We get bugger all out here in Australia, and it annoys the crap out of me. I have bought things off Ebay, and from Rockets shop before, but they make you pay through the nose for postage and handling. On the plus side though, the Aussie dollar is at about 92.5c American. So he, (and in a way, I) get a fantastic conversion rate.

Thanks guys.

Toyota Center itself may be the most expensive spot to find those jerseys...but it may also be the only place to find an Andersen jersey at this point. I don't think that I've seen any Andersen jerseys in Sports Authority or Academy. I'll ask around.

Also - which part of Houston will your friend be in? One thing you have to realize about this city is that everything is far away from everything else. Are there any specific things that he's going to see?

As far as I am aware, The toyota centre. NBA.com advertises the replica's at $55.48 or there abouts. I don't mind paying a little bit more, (especially as Rockets shop.com or NBA.com rape you for postage nd handling, (costs more than the actual items!) so the Toyota Centre is probably the best bet at this point.

I just got back from 2 local sporting goods stores. Neither had DA jerseys.

Might I suggest a red t-shirt and some masking tape? That's how we rolled in the 70's.

What upsets me even more, is that as soon as Bogut went to Milwaukee, we could get his Jersey in Australia, (I got one, gotta support Aussie players, i'll get a Patty Mills Portland Jersey when I can!) I hate that this country is so in love with GAYFL and Rugby. The Rockets shop does do personalised Jerseys, so that's what I'll instruct my mate to get me.

Thanks for the help guys.

Bogut was the 1st overall pick, his jersey was on sale here in Houston.

But yeah, Toyota Center is the best bet if you want the DA jersey.
