Pops Waived

Pops was waived from the roster. Odd move by the team, as I thought that Dorsey going to the D-League meant that Pops was going to be the guy on the active roster getting those minutes.
I don't understand the reasoning for this one.

Has to be some kind of trade in the works.. Maybe Mccants is healthy now.. or cap issues..
Loved Pops' games and attitude but I never thought he would last though. I was wondering why we picked him up instead of Conroy (even though I liked Pops more than Conroy) Chuck/Luis/Carl/Andersen (Dorsey) just too many forwards on the squad. We need someone else who can dribble outside of AB and Lowry.

90% of the raptors fanbase including myself is hoping we sign him again perfect end of the bench type of player

maybe he thought popsa bonsa wasnt undersized, when he realized that he got angry and immediately cut him from the team. now he'll look for a more real sized big, enough w/ these undersized bafoons

If Brooks ankle starts to bother him the Rockets are short at PG,perhaps making room for Conroy-or Temple.

Undersized [b]bafoons[/]b? You'e not serious.. These guys maybe undersized but they are all good players.. Its disrespectful to call them that. If you think every team can just go out and pick up 6'11''-7'0'' big with game you're kidding yourself.

i've been a fan of pops since his days at college here in dc. this is sad since i thought he was playing well in houston. i think he's good enough to catch on somewhere, he just needs the right opportunity.

Sensing this move is to create a roster spot. Morey is going to either sign a new player or trading for one.

I dont understand, unless a trade is in the works. Pops was always the guy standing up and giving props to his team members (moreso than Cook)
Makes little sense, maybe we are actually getting a big man

Trade is in the work. Otherwise this move doesn't make sense unless Pops was causing trouble in the lockerroom. And Pops doesn't seem like the trouble making type.

All the Raptor fans loved this guy didn't they? Hopefully a team in need of rebounding picks him up. Thankfully a little extra rebounding power is always welcome on teams.

This is confusing. why would he get waived?

we could've used another big body against the kings. Morey probably wants another guard. It better be a good move. Pops was a decent backup. I dont understand it. They prolly wanted to save luxury tax money

Dork Elvis is lurking, like a sith lord in a statistician's cloak.
Beware. Trade's brewing. And don't expect to like it when you 1st hear about it.

Is it just me or does this make no sense, especially with Dorsey in the DLeague?? Wasn't his contract tiny? Would it be worth the trouble (and possibly risk) of waiving him over that?
IMO most likely we're signing a guard (McCants anyone?), or we're hyping up for some kind of trade. And the way this team is playing so well right now I can't really see a trade happening unless it involves us getting a tall legit C(DA is not a C).

Morey is saying that this move is to create roster flexibility and to relieve some luxury tax.

Doesn't make sense, aren't we still over the luxury tax, and by a decent margin that Pops smaller contract doesn't have that much bearing on it? Whenever he came into the game, his energy was electric, even if it was in garbage time. Has to be more to this coming later - otherwise I have no clue why we'd do this.
