With Landrys emerging, and energetic play does that allow us to move Scola for some depth?
i.e.
Scola/Cook/Taylor for CDR/Dooling/S.Williams
Hayes/S.Williams/Andersen
Landry/Andersen/S.Williams
Ariza/CDR/Budinger
Battier/CDR/Dooling
Brooks/Lowry/Dooling
New Jersey may move CDR, with TWilliams talent coming aboard. Additionaly they get a solid big man who can be a legit scoring option
Lopez/Boone/Battie
Scola/Yi/Najera
Williams/Simmons/Hassell
Lee/Hayes/Taylor
Harris/Alston
No Texans,No Rocket= Bored
Bash away

Rockets does not have jam log issue at PF/C. Scola/Landry/Hayes with Andersen playing a few minutes is just about alright. Unless Andersen start to show he can play good consistently, then, there is a little luxury at the PF/C rotation. Having 4 serviceable players for PF/C is the coverage to cater for the "i" thing. (Ya taboo to mention "i" thing as Yao is already out due to it). Also having 4 serviceable PF/C will keep everyone fresh given the energy zapping high movement rates required by the motion offense. Not mention the foul trouble situation that happen quite often.
You plan to trade JT for CDR who to me is a rich man JT and Rockets has Birdinger. Dooling is probably the 3rd string PG and S.Williams is aka Swift - lite. For these 3 players, Rockets have to give up Scola? One of the most consistent players for the current rockets?

mmm, CDR is averaging 18/5/1 with an EFF of +16.6. Sean Williams is a serviceable backup almost Landry-lite. Williams loves to play defense and his 6-10 body plays almost 7'1'' when factoring his athleticism and wingspan. I can see your Swift comparison except Williams has more BBall IQ. This trade allows us to pick up another big man with McGradys expiring and not lose depth in other areas.
i.e.
McGrady for Bosh (unlikely, I know , but just for reasoning purposes)
Hayes/Bosh/Williams/Andersen
Bosh/Landry/Williams/Andersen
Ariza/Budinger/CDR
Battier/CDR/Dooling
Brooks/Lowry/Dooling.
Honestly for this year (and ONLY this year) I am on the Kaman bandwagon, I would love to rent Kaman until Yao is back, but the possibilities are very limited there
but a starting lineup of
Kaman/Scola/Ariza/Battier/Brooks--- w/ Landry/Hayes/Budinger/Lowry coming off the bench sounds really nice.

Except that Nets are on a 0-13 losing streak. I won't take stats on a losing team too seriously. There are useful stats and there are meaningless stats. I do recognize CDR have some offensive talent but he + the 2 other nets does not worth trading Scola. Especially I don't see CDR is a major upgrade over what Rockets already have to give away Scola.
On Kama, I would rather have Camby for this season only. Will be a wonderful thing to rockets if Clippers willing to trade Camby to rockets but that probably not going to happen.

Re: Scola a trading chip?
i don't see why we need to deal... it isn't broken at the moment so just leave it alone... after 2 long years of wait, i'm finally seeing the motion offense on more consistent basis. i enjoy the games (though i got annoyed with the bonehead turnovers) because they are entertaining now. i would not be willing to take those players mentioned and start from scratch again. the cast is set for 2010 for a star to land on Houston. Like the Chinese say, "everything is ready, we just need east wind" - in other words, we have all the supporting players, now we just need that x-factor star to lead us to that championship. this trade proposed is meaningless to me atm.
