Houston Rockets and the All Star Vote

There are only 4 Houston Rockets on the all star ballot this season. Each one of them, Tracy Mcgrady, Aaron Brooks, Trevor Ariza and Luis Scola, are among the top vote getters in the west. Tmac is 2nd among gaurds, Brooks is 7th and is notably ahead of Roy, Billups and Ginobili. Ariza and Scola are 6th and 8th respectively among forwards in the West.

Unless the entire Houston population is voting, i think this is pretty much China's doing. My only qualm in this whole thing is.... WHERES CHUCK HAYES!? He'll probably be the leading vote getter among Centers in the West. Chuck got hosed.

Dam you Stern! You manipulative senile old fool!

There is an option to vote for any one player not on the NBA.Com main list. (I voted for Landry!) Brooks deserves a slot, even if not voted by the fans, the coaches should be thinking about him. Same goes for Hayes and for Landry too. Hayes won't make it because he is a defensive Guru. The A/S game is all about offense!

Um... No. The West guards should be (in no order) Paul, Williams, Bryant, Nash, Roy... maybe even Ellis.
Forwards: Gasol, Duncan, Durant, Melo, Nowitzki
Centers: Marc Gasol, Bynum, Amar'e, Oden (pre-injury)

Sorry--but there's no All-stars on this team. Part of what makes them such a great team. No room for egos, check them at the door. As stellar a defender as Hayes is, and as big leaps as Brooks/Landry have made, they're not in the upper echelon of NBA players--especially when it comes to the ASG, which is all about fun.

Sorry, my evil alter-ego, NEGATRON, must've gotten ahold of the keyboard. ;)

But no, really--it's kind of a nice change that there's no all-stars on this team. We don't need them to win, it seems... take that, me-first NBA players!

The All Star game is more about flashy scoring. For that reason I would like Chuck to get the recognition he deserves, but I wouldn't vote him into the All Star game.
