TMac should sign a 2 year veterans min contract

Post#1 » by Mezotarkus » Sun Dec 13, 2009 3:06 pm

McGrady has missed almost 2 seasons worth of games while a member of the Rockets. The guy has been paid $160 million through this year. How about give something back to the fans and the franchise and sign for the veteran's minimum then the Rockets can land a strong free agent and the Rockets can make a big push for a ring over the next few years with a health Yao, a hopefully healthy T-Mac, Ariza, Scola and a marquee free agent.

The only marquee free agent I see us having a chance at next year is Chris Bosh. Wade and Lebron will either stay put or go to Chicago or New York respectively.

Well, the cap space just doesn't exist to pluck Bosh as a free agent. But maybe when the Raptors are 20-30 instead of 10 and 15 they just might be willing to trade him, for fear of losing him to NY or Miami for nothing. IF so, what would you be willing to trade to get him?

Personally, I'd do Yao + something for Bosh + something. Yao is great, but only when he plays. Bosh is great as well, but years from his prime and HEALTHY!

Sorry, have to modify the last statement. As Bosh is something like 6 years younger than Yao, it would probably have to be Yao + Landry for Bosh + ???

Maybe Calderon to make salaries work.

All right, so this would never work. Toronto would never give up on Bosh this soon and Houston loves Landry. Toronto wouldn't gamble on Yao either.

Just sayin'... it would be nice to bring Bosh home. Nice to not be paying Yao and Tracy (to sit on the bench for two years) more than the rest of the team that actually plays the game!

I wonder what it would take to make a Bosh +++ deal for a Yao+Tracy+++ deal work?
