Again, I'm posting from the iPhone, so we're going with the low production value for the game thread. I was going to wait til I got home, but I wanted to start talking about this game.

The What: Houston (14-10) vs. Denver (18-7)

The Where: Pepsi Center, in sunny Denver, Colorado

The When: 8:00 PM CST

The Why: Because David Stern and the people who schedule games are assclowns, one and all!


Starting for Houston:

PG - Aaron Brooks
SG - Trevor Ariza
SF - Shane Battier
PF - Luis Scola
C - Chuck "The Truck" Hayes

Key reserves: Carl Landry, Kyle Lowry, Chase Budinger, David Andersen...and Tracy McGrady!!!


Starting for Denver (I think):

PG - Chauncey Billups
SG - Aaron Affalo
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Kenyon Martin
C - Nene


The big key to Houston's game tonight will be how Trevor Ariza plays. Rick Adelman really ran the minutes long for a lot of our players in the Detroit game, so it will be up to the refreshed and ready Trevor to step in and make up for that dumb elbow.

High altitude game is always a concern; but the Rockets play well against this team. The Brooks/Billups matchup is always fun to watch.

Te Rockets have been playing well on the second half of back-to-backs.

I kind of like the idea of Shane going to the bench if we get what we saw from Chase night in and night out. Plus, it would allow Ariza to play in his more natural SF position.

How many minutes of PT will McGrady see tonight? I'm thinking 10-12.

i'd start Ariza and put battier off the bench

battier should only play 24 mpg unless we are playing against superstar sf/sg type player -- kobe, lebron, melo, roy, durant ...

Birdinger will never start if we have Shane and Trevor here. Like JVG, Coach Adelman has a reputation of being loyal(almost to a fault)to his veterans.

Its gonna take a team effort on defense and the boards. Hopefully T-Mac cab contribute too!

if we play well I think we can keep it close.. Rebs and defense on 'Melo are key. Oh and Ariza will have to have an average game.. That's not too much to ask is it?

Tmac is in. Will he perform another ninja act like previous game?

wait.. did we take out Batt to put in Tmac to guard Melo? thank goodness we wont be seeing much of that..

#3 is the first off of the bench, giving Battier some early rest.

I'm not so sure that this is an audition. I think that they want to see what he can do before shopping him to others.

And they're right back in!

Tmac has no idea where he is.. Scola has to tell him where to go..
