"I'm not sure what to think now. If that's the case (he's not in Houston's plans), why play me seven minutes? If they want to showcase me (for a trade), give me 15-20 minutes,'' he said. "This is a contract season for me. I have to think about that as well.''

"Right now, I'm just playing my cameo role,'' he said. "But it's time to change. I'm excited about becoming a free agent. I really am.''

TRACY MCGRADY:

“I just try to play my role with the little cameos that I make. It is what it is. Obviously they (Coaches) are looking out for my best interest. They are trying to monitor my minutes. At the same time, I feel like it is time to really increase them and I think that is what is going to happen over the next couple of games.”

(on trying not to come back too early from injury and factoring Grant Hill previous injuries in that decision) “I definitely factored that into my comeback. I should have done that last year. There is no way I should have been playing last season. But just having the opportunity to win something finally with the team we had and the addition with Ron (Artest), I felt like maybe I could push through it. That did not happen. So coming back from microfracture surgery I am trying to be really cautious about it. Again, I do know my body and I feel fine. It is time to really start increasing the minutes. I was cool with the plan that they had me on, but I think it is time to start increasing them.”

“I am going full out in practice and have been for awhile with the guys. I am not held back.”

“I have been hungry since I came back from my surgery. I have been hungry. I re-dedicated myself, re-focused, moved to Chicago, and worked out the whole summer there. I am not even supposed to be playing right now. That really tells you how hard I have been working. I was not supposed to be playing until January or February. If you ask anybody who has had it (microfracture surgery), you are not your normal self, and it probably took a year for it to really heal.”

(on whether he has discussed increasing his minutes with Coach Adelman) “No, I have not spoken to him so we have a couple of days. We will see how the next couple of games go. We have a back-to-back with Jersey and Cleveland. We will see how things go.”

“I know how hard I have worked and what I can contribute and bring to the team. But I have to be patient. It is a contract season for me so we have to think about that as well.”

(On idea he is being showcased for trade) “It is a business. It is what it is. Whoever gets me is going to get a hungry player. Whoever gets me will get a hungry player…I don’t care if I go to the moon. It doesn’t matter.”
