The Rockets are rumored to be willing to take back long-term contracts to rid themselves of McGrady.
http://basketball.realgm.com/src_wireta ... _unlikely/Things that pass for journalism these days. Which idiot wrote this?
Brace yourself for the barrage of Curry trade from NY.

they are stupid?
why trade him for a long term contract?
are these journalisms from new york or wish we trade with new york or what?
if we are not getting quality player in return
the best thing to do is to waive him

Yup. Same thread on their board has 14 replies already. Some great trades for us!
"Larry Hughes
Eddy Curry
for
TMAC"
"Mobley + Darko + Jeffries + $3 million"
"If we can't dump Curry or JJ, no thanks."
"
Well it goes with out saying that we exhaust every option to push EC on them. When that fails we move to JJ. IF that fails, we walk away, unless someone really thinks he will help us become a playoff team this year.
Not that it would justify taking EC or JJ, but we have some guys that could fit with them, Harrington giving them a go to scoring option, at times. Hughes giving D and ball handling at the 2. Darko giving them a bigger big man. Mobley, instant savings if they take on EC or JJ, making up for it. Nate, spark plug scorer off the bench. JJ even fits in with the team culture they have. EC would actually be a fit, in that he adds low post scoring and would surrounded with defenders.
That said, doubt anything happens."
"Which idiot wrote the wiretap?"
Oh wait--that was you, Guy, nevermind.

Yeah. Should be a fun couple weeks....

LMAO. Right. I am sure the Rockets will rather put up with a few more months of McGrady than trade him for a long term contract.

There's no way a deal of that magnitude would go down.

I think we are going to have to take a bad contract and a Talented player to get rid of MAc. We all have to come to the realazition that we are not going to get a big time free agent next year. All the dreams of Bosh, Wade, LeBron are what they are pipe dreams. So if we get Martin from Sac Town, or any other young player you can bet there will be a crappy contract coming with them.

We are not going to get a good player. Nobody here is unwilling to take a good player for long term for McGrady. But based on 7 mins a game for 6 games nobody will trade us a good player. Disgruntled player probably but all the great players in the league are happy right now. Our best option still remains to let him expire or try and get New Orleans to listen to offers for Paul which I doubt they will do. Other than that we are going to be low balled all the way to the deadline with Curry trades and straight up trades for Jermaine O'Neal...

Taking back a large contract??? I question the validity of this. I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets and McGrady weren't going to ever come to terms, but his contract expires after this season. Why would they be willing to damage their future flexibility just to get rid of T-Mac???
I expect them Rockets to trade McGrady, but they won't do anything stupid just to get rid of him.

who cares
rockets is already doing something stupid
just give t-mac the playing time
what harm can it do? him getting injured again? so what
we are not trying to win anyway
if he's back to himself
great resign him next season
if not just let him go
i don't even know what the hell the rockets organization is trying to do
i'm disappointed at them again
trade yao next season so i don't have to worry about this team
