Though he never got us to the promise land (hell he never got us to the second round) he was still a fun player to watch. I just want to take this opportunity to thank him for his services to Houston. my favorite memory will always be the 13 in 35. Don't get me wrong, i am happy that we're trading him, I am excited to see what Morey can do with his expiring. But I also don't hold any hard feelings for him or anyone else that has put on the Houston jersey and played for this great city. I wish him luck with his next team (hoping it is a Eastern team) and hope he returns to an all-star level.

please allow this thread to be a thank you for him. If you must bash him (and many already have) you can easily start another thread.

Thank you T-Mac for being a lazy piece of ****. You get paid millions of dollars to PLAY. You play a game for a living, and you didn't give it 100% effort. You collected millions and coasted threw season after season. You had the talent to be better than Kobe, LeBron, Wade, etc, but chose not too. You could have been a world class defender, but deferred to other players with 1/2 the skill of you to guard the other teams best player. Night in and night out you watched david wesley get torched, and never once did you go over to the coach and say "let me guard that man." You chose to "rest" on the defensive end, so you could have full energy on the offensive end. But then, on the offensive end you chose to shoot jumper after jumper instead of using your athletir 6'9' frame to drive to the basket. You watched Deron Williams torch lesser teammates for two straight playoff series, and never once begged the coach to let you guard him. Kobe, Michael, Wade, would have asked to switch after 3 times down the court. You admitted to not giving your all, 3 franchises and counting were at a point where they couldnt wait to get rid of you, and you have never played basketball in the 2nd round. HA. You thought your laziness would work, but it didn't. Pure athleticism and skill worked for you your whole life. But not in the NBA. You became a rich man, and you put up decent numbers. But you are selfish, and you are lazy. You have a big mouth and dont know when to shut up. You are a bad teammate, and a pathetic person for taking that many millions and not putting your heart into every minute on the court. Your NBA career was a complete failure. You are Allen Iverson, but worse. If you had the heart of a champion, you would have been equal to Michael Jordan. Better than Kobe, better than LeBron, better than Wade. Your laziness made it to where half the basketball world doesnt even know if your better than Ray Allen. Your NBA career was the biggest letdown in sports history. You could have been so much more. I hope you realize this all and change for your new team. You could still squeak out a title or two on the right team with a bench role, 20 minutes a game

**** you man. I'm tired of all these posts bashing t-mac. It's extremely disrespectful - especially now that he's is leaving. Even if you didn't like the guy it doesn't mean you have to kick him when he's down. People saying things like "good ridance t-mac" shows that they have absolutely no class at all.

No hate from me. I'm sadthat it did not turn out better, and I'll always wonder "what if?"

I hope that his career bounces back.

he had the potential to be better than kobe. hasnt played 10 straight games healthy since 04/05, still manages to be a top notch all star. steps up his game in the playoffs, UNLIKE YAO MING! fronting defense wouldnt work on yao w/ him and rafer cuz of they're passing skills. closed games, something this current roster has pathetic problems with. countless great things tmac has done and can do and coulda done

i still love tmac, if it werent for injuries this team would be contending every year. unfortuneatly he had to play w/ an injury prone center who wont dunk on other players, which would help the team a whole bunch if he did btw.

tmac > yao until 08/09. hope he goes to the east and we get a good trade, more cap relief for 2010/all star player/point guard, as long as its good and houston doesnt get ripped off.

People keep remembering the big moments as a Rocket, but they forget games like these, where he although his stats might now show it, he destroyed Utah to close out the game.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtpWVp07A14 another one of my favorite plays...plus can't forget the GW in Dallas for Game 2....we've had a pleasure to watch an amazing player, it's just a too bad it didn't work out the way it should have. If only he had kept his mouth shut, if only he wasn't injured.

But people need to STOP with the double standard, this was a duo that failed from two sides, it wasn't just McGrady's fault, Yao has just as much blame for the fail.

They spent 5 and a half seasons together, yet they only played in the playoffs together JUST TWO TIMES, both are injury prone, probably had the most upside, but it didn't work out.

I'll continue to follow him, because since watching him in the '00 (his first season in Orlando), I've pretty much accepted him as my favorite player all-time, he needs to go somewhere that will allow him to play and where he could make a positive impact. Coming off of that '08 season where we won 22 games in a row, his image was fairly good, he was known to be an impacted player, but now that's all changed with the stunts he pulled last season...lets hope he goes somewhere good and fulfills his dreams of winning a championship.

eventhough he really pissed me off last season, he has helped the team a lot and was fun to watch. i remember i was excited when he first came here and guaranteed good things will happen to the rockets. well unfortunately those good things did not happen, but it really didnt have to end on a sour note. good luck to him where ever he goes i guess.

He came to Houston in mid-2004 and by teaming himself and Yao together, this trade could only mean good things for the team after the Francis/Mobley/Cato era. In the early days, we had no third option, then no bench, then bad health...things just conspired against us. During this time, T-Mac and Yao never played together enough.

My favorite T-Mac moments in no particular order:
- 13 points in 35 seconds
- Dunk on Shawn Bradley against the Mavs!
- Game-winning jumper in Game 2 was unreal
- Leading us to a 22-match winning streak

Sad it couldn't end up better.

Orlando fan here.

Tmac is still my Favorite player of all time. Its Orlando's fault to not give him enough talent to do anything in the playoffs. Best player he ever had beside him was Mike MIller or Juan Howard. And Grant HIll screwed us over as well.

Best of luck TMAC look forward to seeing you play again. Hopefully this summer you can come home and play in Orlando with your cousin and Dwight
