Owner praises coach's success, handling of McGrady situation

Alexander did not have a precise timetable for making the move, but said it would be done by the All Star break. He had not told Adelman of his plans.

Alexander said that he had decided to pick up the option on Adelman’s contract based on his coaching, but also praised how Adelman handled Tracy McGrady’s comeback attempt and the team’s eventual decision to try to grant McGrady’s trade request.

“When I read his comments all t he time, I couldn’t help but think this is the truth. There is nothing that was in any way protective or trying to obfuscate. He was just saying what was the reality. He wants as a coach to win every night and Tracy wasn’t ready to participate in that.”

took the long enough, i was saying before this season that he should be resigned , there's a low chance we can find a coach who's as good or better, and i highly doubt we do . w/ the offensive struggles this team has the past 5-10 years, rick is the man for the job , defense is good too wat a RARE INTANGIBLE TO HAVE FROM A COACH, they should throw a seperate new years party just to resign him

I think Adelman's a great coach.

Glad we signed him.

haha. given the recent strain relationship between Adelman and Tmac, this is like a slap across Tmac's face.

I admit that i used to think he was clueless but i'm glad i am wrong so far this particular season.
good move to retain him... i like how the organization/owner is finally firmly showing which side they/he are/is on.
