I'm freaking ecstatic about this. Iggy's been like my favorite player since he was drafted. I'm kind of surprised this deal even has a chance of taking place though because IMO Iggy's one of the best players in the league...but maybe I'm biased cause I like him so much.

Would Philly really give up Iguodala just to get rid of Dalembert? I could see it for maybe Brand, but I think it'd be dumb to give up a player, regardless of being a franchise player or not, a young swingman that's averaging 19/7/6 on the season. It seems, more like that's what the Rockets are pushing for, but no inclination for the Sixers to do it.

Throw in Cook with that deal, and you save a lot of money (around 25 million), especially for a team that NEEDS business which is one of the worst attendance teams in the league.

As an usual fan, I'm jumping to everything I hear/read.

I think I'm going to stay off, and be a casual fan, instead, and see this from a different team's perspective until something actually gets done.


I hear Butler, Martin, iguodala. I only want Iggy or Martin from that, Caron is nice, but he's relatively old, and doesn't satisfy what we need.

Agreed. I doubt Philly will include Iggy just to unload Dalembert's 2-year contract. If we want Iggy, he'll be paired with Elton Brand.

i only want iggy from butler/iggy/martin. iggy aint injury prone and he's better then those 2. i'd love to have iggy over here. tmac/cook/scola/dorsey for iggy/brand/filler, why not?

See, I'm not high on K-Mart, for the same reason I'm not high on Butler. They're both injury prone, and haven't played more then 70 games in a season since 2006, sad to say.

As a Sixers fan, I'd do this trade from my perspective at least. Not because we like McGrady; we just like his huge expiring contract at the end of the season. Pair that up with another player of ours with a bad contract (Sammy/Brand...your pick), and it looks even better. Of course we'd take up Cook for example to make the salaries work.

The 76ers aren't going anywhere with this lineup. And Iggy is not a franchise player per say. He's a fine all-around player, but only in a complimentary role to a main scorer. I'd think he'd fit in nicely with Yao as a second guy. Plus you'll get a very durable, very stable player in Iggy.

Obviously each team looks at their own cost/benefit analysis. I've done mine, and personally I'd do this deal.

^ and Iggy turns 26 this year, thats not old at all, Landry turns 27 this year. Iggy will need to work on his 3 point shot though.

I'd be dancing on the table for Iggy he's a nice young SG, instead of getting Kevin Martin or Butler and go through that will they play tonight? Enough of injury prone players.

if u mean iggy is better as a 2nd/3rd option than i do agree, thats what he'd be in houston when yao's back. imo iggys 2nd tier sg/sf, in the same level as joe johnson/pierce/carter. those guys are good enough for 2nd options.

doesnt matter if we get brand or sammy d. both have their pros n cons. i love brand and do think he's still capable of 17/7 if a team gives him the minutes, but w/ houston stacked on offense, it'd be better we get sam. both are good at defense, but w/ sam we get height and we lack height at the 4/5 for awhile, and brand being undersized is more of a liability at 30 years old. plus sam's contract is done same year as yao. w/ brand we get inside offense insurance in case yao has problems coming back. and who knows maybe he'll be able play great defense for his whole contract

Dal+Iggy would be nice but Iggy+ some young talent would be great.

Dally + Iggy is what I'd want for T-Mac and Cook, it works financially very well for the Sixers, while we get a young player that would be perfect for our team, and a center too that would be valuable this season, and next season (when he expires) as a back up to Yao.

Tmac+Cook for Iggy and Dally (1 more year left) seems to be fair for both team.

Dalembert and Kapono for McGrady works in the trade checker. Houston gets a center and saves about 8 mil this season.

Hopefully this news will stop the barrage of silly trade ideas that bombard this board. We want talent. We wanted their best player and we are targetting teams that may want to simply restart their franchise. McGrady won't be happy but we could just let him expire and maybe even buy him out although that would be a huge buyout.

And LOL at Iguodala being one of the best players in the NBA. He is a second option on a good team maybe even a third but he is not a number 1 option. Our priority should be big men, point guards and then swing men. Not sure what Iguodala would bring to us...he is what Ariza would be if he had an attacking mentality and I think we can do better.

But hopefully people realize that we want talent and we are the key to helping some badly constructed team with starting over. We don't want Curry or Hughes or any type of junk like that. We don't want broken down players like Arenas. We could take 23 million off your books if you give us a good offer.
