Focus: Come up with your best trade between the Rockets and whoever their next opponent is.
Might as well have some fun with this stuff...right? Our collective souls can only tolerate so many Iggy/Bosh/Fat Knick ideas.
Get yer trade checkers humming, fellers.
(3 team trades are fine...as if a 3way could ever be objectionable.)

Example: Rockets next game is 01/18 vs. Milwaukee.
Milwaukee Trades:
Joe Alexander
Houston Trades:
The rights to Lior Eliyahu
2011 2nd round pick
Alexander's just about proven himself useless. So has Lior.
But the Rox could use another white guy. And Milwaukee needs to shed some salary.
taadaaaa!!!!

Rockets trade Trevor Ariza OR Shane Battier to the Nuggets
Nuggets trade JR Smith in return.
He'd be an awesome fit

This week's opponents:
Milwaukee,
Cook,Dorsey for Kurt Thomas and Francisco Elson.
Rockets get a 7'er and all is well in the land.* Bucks shave $1mil off payroll.
One of those trades where you just shuffle the cheerleaders at the end of the bench, but it looks like the GM is really working hard.
San Antonio,
The rights to Llull for the rights to Tiago Splitter.
Splitter then comes over, averages close to double-double backing up Yao,causing Pops to declare the coaching side of his brain is sick to it's half of his stomach at what his GM side of his brain did.
Chicago,
Nope, not gonna go there. This is a Ribalding thread,so no easy way outs for me. Have to think tad outside the box and that leads to...
Dorsey for Aaron Gray.
Because the Vipers have an overwhelming need for a big white stiff.(And the Bucks ended up doing Cook and max money for Thomas.)
* Yes,I'm being sarcastic.

Next game/trade, San Antonio:
Note - In a league populated by mediocre management, the Spurs (and Blazers), along with the Rockets, are the only 3 teams with consistently forward-thinking front office staffs. As proof, check out the Spurs salary commitments. Out of 14 roster spots, only THREE guys have deals for longer than 2 YEARS. (Duncan/McDyess for 3 years, Blair for 4) That's some serious flexibility, added to putting money in the right places. When you compare Spurs player value to Spurs salary commitments, it's mind-boggling. Even better than the Rox or Blazers, imo.
For comparison, the Rox have 5 players with deals longer than 2 years, not including a soon-to-be-re-signed Yao. (Of those 5/6, only Yao and Ariza make big money...thankfully.)
That being said, tisbee's may be the best realistic Spurs/Rox deal. I came up with another one, but it's not notably better, and it's based upon a couple of large if's.
Lowry for George Hill and Mahinmi. (works in the checker)
#1 if: Lowry's offseason price tag projects too high for Morey's taste.
#2 if: The bloom comes off the George Hill rose, just a little bit. (seems to be) They might not be comfy with him backing up Parker for their title run.
#3 if: The Dorsey Project has officially been shuttered.
Regardless, trading between these two teams is damn hard. They're both too good at what they do. (I'm still convinced the V-Span/Scola thing was the final piece of an under the table deal allowing them to hire Dennis Lindsey...with Scola being the 'player to be named later'.)
Anybody want to take a stab with one of the Rox tpe's? Those are always amusing. I left two of 'em on the table, for one brave soul.
P.S. The Moushwitz Network projects my stupid little trade decreases the Rox win total by 4...as I suspected. (But it gets us that much closer to a top 10 pick in the draft.)
