Heck anything is better than the way Ariza has been shooting. With that said, Landry should start to see starter minutes

Next game I'm hoping to see Budinger in the starting lineup with Ariza moving to the 3 and Shane coming off of the bench. And yes, more time for JT.

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say that since Adelman has been coaching for longer than most of us have been alive, sees what happens at every practice (not to mention every game) and is generally regarded as one of the best coaches in the league, that he PROBABLY knows what he's doing and why his rotations are the way they are.

Just bring back McGrady.

Ariza has a net on/off-court production of -7.4, which is just flat out horrible.

He does know what he is doing, that doesnt mean its working.. I believe we accidentally made Ariza some promises and we fked up

ariza/cbud play the same minutes, no more than 20/25, give taylor no more than 10minutes , ariza has proven game after game he cannot carry a scoring load byhimself

Scola has the worst +/- rating on the team

Hmm, where did you get that?

I'm confused - what's the difference between that one and this one:

NBA.com is more up to date while 82games.com is a couple of games behind. NBA has accounted for 44 games while 82games used data from 42 games.
From 82games.com: Ariza cumulative +/- score is 3295 pts scored and 3343 pts allowed giving net -48
From NBA.com: Ariza cumulative +/- score is 3327 pts scored and 3383 pts allowed giving net -56
Similarly for Scola:
From 82games.com: 2676 pts scored and 2724 pts allowed giving net -48
From NBA.com: 2721 pts scored and 2780 pts allowed giving net -59
The -7.4 score for Ariza is for the net effect of his on and off court impact and is different from +/-. Ariza's +/- is -1.4. 82 games prefer to use the net effect on player's on and off the court rather than pure +/- rating.
In summary, as of today, Scola has the worst cumulative +/- score but basketball is a game of 5 and individual +/- is not very reflective of the player's contribution.

Scola might not be better than Landry but Landry is more productive as a 2nd stringer b/c that line up runs more. Plus he'll play against some backup 4/5s, at times.
We lose a couple of games and everyone panics. Realistically, before this season, how many games did you guys think we could win? No Tmac or Yao......
You guys should have put down a number of projected total wins on a piece of paper and wait til the end of the season and see how close you were. I would say 30-35 games. We're actually on pace to get about that or over. We are a sub-.500 team on paper and we'll be lucky to get to .500. We HAVE A 6'6 starting center!!! If I was a coach, I'd lick my chops everytime I played against us. Attack inside with bigs, or slash with guards all game long. Teams are now realizing that (amazing it's taken that long to figure out) and it's recently been working against us. =/

Landry get the chance to play against opponent's backups since he is coming from the bench and therefore benefited his +/- scores.
My prediction was 44 wins fighting for 8th seed with Suns.
viewtopic.php?f=16&t=952158didnot see Thunders, Grizz challenging for PO spot at that time.
Look like need 47-48 win to secure 8th spot.
Brent Barry had said that other teams had studied the rockets and kind of figure out how to defend/attack rockets. Rockets has lost their surprise factor.
Personally I see the FIXED rotation while provide stability for the players, will not be effective once other teams figured the weaknesses/strengths and Adelman need to make some changes to re-captured the edge that Rockets has earlier this season. Changes like starting Budinger, or Landry in place of Scola or Ariza/Battier, playing the 2nd unit in the 3rd Q earlier, Trading for an impact player, improving roster etc. will help recapture that winning edge.

Just to add on that individual +/- is not reflective. It is better to look at the 5 man unit combo and their effectiveness.
From 82games:
http://www.82games.com/0910/0910HOU2.HTMThe most effective combo is
Brooks-Lowry-Budinger-Landry-Andersen
this combo produce +52 on cumulative +/- and is the 3rd most used combo on court (110 minutes).
This combo also give the most FT attempts at +24, 2nd highest eFG% and 3rd lowest opponent eFG%.
The most used combo (656 minutes) is the starting lineup of
Brooks-Battier-Ariza-Scola-Hayes
This combo producces -43 on cumulative +/-.
Adelman has to break up the starting lineup to give Rockets an edge in winning.

adelman is conspiring to tank the rockets to a top 10 lottery pick and trade tmac for 20 first round picks in 2010 draft . ITS A CONSPIRRRRAAAACCCAHHHHHH!
but really, have ariza and cbud play no more than 25min, and start playing taylor 5min and if he's productive play him no more than 10 min.
their is absolutely no way this team wins more than 2 games in their 7 game home stand, lost first 2, denver today , phx sunday, prolly a good team friday . great way to waste the fans money during this rare homestand, so rare that it happens once a season, that's really are im not sure if you wanna keep doing wat rick is doing i mean this is really a rare 7 game homsestand and its vs good teams so god daam TRADE TMAC!!!! play dorsey, do smoething, take a risk, so many losses, no risks taken, what the fudge???
