Mcgrady came back from his injury and was playing at most a couple of minutes. Now it appears he is close to healthy. Why are the Rockets not prepared to start giving him more minutes per game to see if he is at minimum able to be good again? I wouldn;t have thought a couple of mins this season per game would be enough to assess that he can't be a strong player again, discuss? Are you not worried that when you trade him, he's not going to be someone you wish you didn't let get away.

i am not a fan of how houston handled mcgrady. im a fan of him and praise him for all he's done for the rockets, playing injured every year and still putting up 25/5/5 numbers. everytime he plays houston i want him to deliver an ass kicking. rick is too stubborn and will never play tmac, especially at this time and even if we dont trade tmac he wont see any time on the court. its unfortunate but w/e, no coach better than rick for at least a few years, and i dont mind him as our coach specially w/ a healthy squad, just that some things he does makes me go ARGHHHHHH , every coach has a few bad things so w/e

Heard he might be getting traded last deadline and just decied that I am getting Microfracture surgery without letting the team know. Guy is a Joke He was joke in Toronto, Joke in Orlando and we where stupid enough to think he was coming here to win us a Ring with YAO. No disrespect to New York but You guys are getting a Keeper.

Because when the Rockets were informed Yao was going to be out for the year just before the draft that changed everything. They no longer were in "We're going for it now" mode and went into rebuild/reload mode. And w/that they decided they could no longer build around a Yao-McGrady Axis as the health issues were just too steep to overcome.

From that decision fot the first time the team actively looked to shop McGrady instead of listening to offers. Once they decided to shop him,whether or not McGrady could actually play became irrelevant to Rockets as far as the on-court team went. I believe they didn't get much interest over the summer in McGrady the player so there was no real incentive to boost his value by putting him on the court.
(And this knowledge prob fueled McGrady in switching to Tim Grover and motivated him to work to get back on the court as early as possible. The sooner he could get on the court the better he would be playing by early Jan and the greater the chances someone would want to trade/sign him as an impact player.)

I really believe the Rockets felt all along McGrady wouldn't be ready til Jan at earliest and in a probable worst case that the team would be competitive and that he could come back and give a modest boost towards a Playoff run. Instead the team had success from the beginning and thus no need for McGrady.(Morey on several occassions has said if the team was struggling w/a poor record early on things would have been different. Back in late Dec he said to the effect if the record had been alot worse,the McGrady situation would have been different.)

For the Rockets playing McGrady wasn't going to boost his trade value and was going to take minutes away from players they both needed to evaluate and who needed actual game minutes.

And it has very little to do w/Adelman. Whatever animosity he may or may not have,he was a coach on the last yr of his contract. There's a term for coaches on their last yr who refuse to play the team's highest-paid and most talented player against the wishes of management...ex-coach! It is no coincidence that as soon as the Rockets and McGrady had their formal divorce,Les immediately gave Adelman an extension that previously they "were in no hurry.it'll get done after the season as usual".

Let's not forget Tmac gave up on the rockets before we gave up on him. He screwed us at the trade deadline last year and is getting what he deserves. If I had my way, I'd let his a s s rot on the bench and let his contract expire. It would make it harder for him to get a big contract in the offseason, but if he goes to NY he'd get PT and might boost his value. =/ Hopefully no one is dumb enough to give him more than a minimum contract and humbles him. Dude is a joke and needs to leave....
