We're hitting the jackpot in the off-season

Morey's trades have done one thing; stockpile. He has a ton of assets, which he got from literally peanuts.

The likes of those Knicks picks, Jordan Hill, Trevor Ariza, Chase Budinger, Luis Scola, Shane Battier, even Kyle Lowry are ALL very intriguing pieces. I think with the failed Amar'e trade that Morey's going to devise something this off-season. We're obviously in great hands.

And to the opposing star Free Agent or star we may trade for it's very intriguing to play alongside Yao, Martin, Brooks, Adelman and crew. I'm not going to try to start a flamewar, but if you're Amar'e or Chris Bosh or Joe Johnson and you see that you could have lineups like this:

Yao
Bosh
Ariza or Battier
Martin
Brooks

or

Yao
Scola
Johnson
Martin
Brooks

or

Yao
Scola
Martin or Ariza or Battier
Wade
Brooks

It makes you think hard. If the opposing team is losing these star players for nothing, I'm sure they'd be intrigued by our own picks, the Knicks picks, Budinger, Jordan Hill, etc rather than letting them just walk. And if you're the star FA, you can join a VERY competitive team, make the max you can(cause of sign & trades), and have Yao/Martin as your 2nd, 3rd options with Adelman as your coach.

Maybe its just me but Id rather trade Brooks than Lowry.

I think Lowry would be a better fit with a quartet of Martin, Yao, Wade/Bosh/Johnston and Scola to dish it off too. But obviously Brooks is the better outside shooter and defender.

I'm with you.

Brooks+Battier+filer+picks=Wade. Get it done, Morey.

Anyone think we can put together an offer for Deron Williams? I know, I know, I hate the Jazz too, but he seems unhappy. Let's jump on it!

Deron doesn't suck at being human at all, other than the fact that he plays for Utah. Seems like a reasonably classy fellow from what I've seen.

Now Boozer, Kirilenko, Okur, Korver, and pretty well anyone else on the Jazz....

Brooks, Cook, Jeffries (and picks) for Deron and a trade exception works. ;)

Jazz get a blindingly fast PG to run the floor for Sloan, plus cap relief for 2011, and a chance to rebuild in the draft.

Houston gets a fantastic backcourt of Williams/Martin, with Ariza, Scola, and Yao upfront.

GET'R DONE MOREY

ETA: No way, no how this deal gets done, but I actually kinda like it for both sides. More from ours, obviously, but it's not heinously bad, is it...?

I was about to agree with everything you said, but please tell me that was a typo when you said Brooks is a better defender than Lowry?

No it isn't, but it depends on the drafts. Put it this way if I'm the Jazz and I just picked John Wall with NY 2010, and then I see LeBron, Wade and Bosh ending up somewhere else than NY, for instance staying put, then I might be much more tempted to pull that trigger than today.

LOL, Jazz will not trade Deron for Brooks and couple of picks. Better chances by going for guys like Bosh, Wade, JJ, Amare.. where they would leave anyway so Rockets can entice the teams with picks and young talent to do a S&T.

It's tantamount to Brooks for Williams. Unless Utah's HELL BENT on cutting salary...

Talk about mixed feelings. I half-way want NO to really play well w/their rookie PG so they get tempted to move CP3.

Yes, look at PG/PF players that could be expendable. Granted, value for talent WILL never be accomodated if Deron or Chris are being shopped it's hard to find an offer that's superior to Aaron Brooks, Ariza or Battier, Jefferies, NYK 2012 1st.

It really is MUCH harder to find a better offer. That's the bottom line. They won't be traded for an S&T of one of these max stars cause Wade, JJ, LeBron, Bosh won't go to Utah to play alongsie Millsap, Okur and possibly Boozer. They're better suitors in terms of a team and city. And they certainly won't go to New Orleans to play without Chris Paul(or heck with him, idk how Wade/Bron/JJ could fair with CP3).

If I was Morey, I'd try my luck to acquiring in this order:

1) Dwyane Wade
2) Chris Paul
3) Deron Williams
4) Joe Johnson
5) Amare Stoudemire

with a package of either Brooks or Lowry, Ariza or Battier, 2012 Knicks 1st, rights to swap picks in 2011 or Jordan Hill, and Jefferies.

^^ Hmm, I'm assuming you're not a fan of Chris Bosh?

Completely forgot about him, but I'd put him at T3 with Deron.

I'd take Wade way before, and even Paul. Paul can be the best player on this team, yet not the best scorer, that's why. I'd love to see him with a shooting swingman like Martin and a post threat like Yao.
