NBA Draft 2010

since trades are done, let's talk about some draft prospects for the Rockets in June

1. Nic Wise - a 5'10 senior point guard at University of Arizona. A Houston native. Played 3 years with Chase Budinger and Jordan Hill. Short but strong. Would be good insurance in case Lowry decides to sign elsewhere.

2. Cole Aldrich - a 6'11" junior center at Kansas. A big man with bulk and nice shot blocking skills. Probably a top 5 pick. Would take a lot of pressure off Yao.

3. Scottie Reynolds - a 6'1" senior point guard at Villanova. Kyle Lowry 2.0?

4. Damion James - a 6'7" senior small forward at Texas. Great leaper and rebounder. Reminds me of Shawn Marion.

5. Dexter Pittman - a 6'10 senior center at Texas. A Houston native. Having a very bad senior season but could be another Kendrick Perkins type in the NBA.

Cole Aldrich is at least a Top 10 pick.
Pittman needs to lose a lot of weight.
And Damion James doesn't seem to have much of an upside.

I like Willie Warren.

My guess: someone who's not really on any of our radars, will cause us to second-guess him, and then prove Morey was a genius after all.

That's been the trend, at least.

EDIT:

Last year, we traded for Jermaine Taylor (32), Sergio Llull (34), and Budinger (44). Jury's still out on the first two, but Chase has been great, I think we all agree.

Year before that, we drafted Batum (25), flipped him for Darrell Arthur (27) and Dorsey (33). Turned Arthur into Donte Greene (28) and a future 2nd. Dorsey helped get us Martin.

The year before THAT, we drafted Aaron Brooks (26) and traded for Landry (31). Any questions here? No? Okay then.

In 2006, he turned Gay (7) into Battier and Swift. High price, but Shane's intangibles have done pretty well for us, I'd say.

So, he's only ever had a lottery pick once, and that turned into a team captain and one of the most intelligent players in the league. His second-round picks have included Landry, Budinger, and Dorsey.

Guy's yet to make a misstep, really. As I said, it's too early to tell if he's made any wrong picks so far, but he's been pretty damn right.

I'm more excited to see what we can do with the Knicks' picks... especially when Lebron signs with us instead of them. ;)

Pleaseee no texas players. Pittman is out of shape now, how is he going to play big minutes in a tougher league? James is overrated like many other Texas players. I'm a Texas alum and hate the way they're playing right now. Barnes needs to get off his ass and start coaching. They play so much one on five it's sickening. Make the good players you have on the team buy into ur system or bench them. A bunch of one and done players......can't believe we're still ranked.

I wouldn't mind Avery Bradley quite honestly.

Hoopsworld mock currently has us taking him.

If we're picking from school loyalty, I'll take Ekpe Udoh from Baylor.

But now that his name has been mentioned on a message board, Morey will cross him off the list. Just have to pick the anonymous guy, don't you, Daryl?

Show off.

I was reading draftexpress and it compares Patrick Patterson to Carl Landry, perhaps that's why Morey traded him :P
