Ok, let me just start off by saying Morey is the best and smartest GM in the league today. We pulled highway robbery on this deal. We got a much needed number one scoring option with Kevin Martin who will draw double teams and open up the floor for other players. We got Jordan Hill who is a young raw talent. If he puts work into his game and is taught correctly he could turn into a nice role player/energy guy(JJ Hickson maybe?). We also got 2011 & 2012 Knick's picks which are barely protected. And we also got Hilton Armstrong. Now, Armstrong has had an inconsistent career, but he has shown flashes of promise here and there. He's been decent at best in limited minutes this season. And then we get too Jeffries who Ive never been a fan of, one of the worst players in the NBA.
So now I get to my next point, what do you think the depth chart will look like? This chart isn't what the Rockets will probably set up, but I think it'd be effective...
Brooks/Lowry
Martin/Buddinger
Battier/Ariza/Jeffries
Scola/Hayes/Hill
Armstrong/Anderson
SF:Shane Battier - Best defender on the team, works hard, sets tempo defensivly
C:Hilton Armstrong - Young player, give him the oppurtunity and see what happens, Chuck is under sized
SF: Ariza - I'll admit some biasness here. Although I like Ariza as a person and player, I hate how the Rockets are trying to force him into being a star player. He screws up alot on offense and takes alot of bad shots. I'd like to see him play energy off the bench/6th man-type role getting Landry's old minutes.
PF: Hill - We cant just give him minutes right off the bat. He needs motivation to work harder and become better. Weve seen this scenario many times, and while most of the time the player fails to live up, some rise to the occasion, work hard to become better, and become nice players. We need Hill to be that guy.
Depth Chart?
