Kevin Martin

So....it's been a few games now and it looks like Kevin Martin is rounding into form based on the boxscores. Adelman is a great coach and knows how to maximize players strengths and hide their weaknesses. What is the overall impression of adding Martin to you your team Rockets fans?
IMO, on paper he's a seamless fit(especially with the return of Yao). So I'm curious would you guys reverse the Martin/Landry portion of the trade or are you guys happy with it?

I'm happy with the trade. I'm glad we got Martin.

Yeah, I think you should be as well. Landry's solid, but Martin is a near all-star.

I think that the backcourt of Martin and Brooks is one of the best in NBA. They will be good for a long time. I like this trade , we could use the pieces for the free agents , and Kevin Martin fits in well. Excited for next season and this summer. This backcourt is definiately the quickest.

I can't think of any worse backcourt defensively in the league...
Many top University's have better defensively.

I love the trade. He's the perfect fit for the Rockets and the perfect fit in Adelman's system. He also seems like he's going to go back to being the efficient player that he once was. Do any of you think Martin has a chance of being an all-star starter next year if Yao is healthy and the Rockets have a good record? He'll probably have the majority of Chinese fans voting for him.

^^
Who cares if Martin will be an Allstar starter next year?
Aside from maybe his mom and homers...
Anyway he probably won't he doesn't have the star power imo yet.
I don't even think he was close to getting a spot this year, and you will need at least 1,000,000.
Beside guys like Paul, Deron Williams, Nash, Roy, even Tyreke Evans will probably deserve it more.

I haven't seen him play, so since their stats are similar I'll ask, is Tyreke a Steve Francis mold point guard?
(High TO, low Ast, mediocre shooting, good rebounding, good steals, and most critical: reliable for 3 passes per game into the first row and unable to do basic perimeter ball rotations)

Imagine if we face the Lakers, Shane/Ariza on Kobe and
Martin on Artest

He's more of a poor mans Lebron James than a Steve Francis. I don't even consider Evans a pg, but Kings fans will disagree.

Martin will have to defend Kobe. Or try to.
Yep its a huuuuuge mismatach against the Lakers.

Match-ups go both ways. Martin is uncanny at drawing fouls. He's MUCH quicker than Kobe, and could easily put him in foul trouble if the game was called straight. That's the problem though is that Laker games are rarely called straight.

If we play the Lakers... give the current roster plus Yao?
Hm.
Could Lowry cover Artest? JT?
Battier doesn't leave Kobe. Period.

lowry and taylor will get abused by artest . one of the reasons i prefer iggy over martin is cuz of defense , but w/e , things'll get settled in the offseason

Best scenario after this season
Arron Brooks
Kevin Martin
Trevor Ariza
Chris Bosh (Amare)
Yao Ming
Battier
Kyle Lawry
Marcus Camby
David Anderson
Jermaine Taylor
Chuck Hayes
FA
FA
Houston trade Re-signed Luis Scola (3/25mil) Jordan Hills, Chase Bud 2010 draft pick, 2011 draft pick and 2011 NYK swappable pick plus filler (Jefferies) to Toronto for Chris Bosh (6years/110 million)
To me this is the perfect Anti-Lakers team if we can stay healthy (big if and that if is to Yao)
Brooks vs Fisher Brooks going to kill Fisher or Shannon Brown like there is no tomorrow
Kobe Vs Martin Kobe start to lose up his once unbelievable athleticism, but he still going to kill Kevin no matter what, all we ask is Kevin to make his open 3pts.
Ariza vs Artest both defensive minded SF, should be fun to watch, Artest has the power and Ariza has the speed, considering Ron is getting older and will never get his leg back, this is a pretty good match up for the Rockets
Chris Bosh Vs Pau Gasol one of the biggest advantage becomes nothing special here , Chris has all the tool to compete with Pau and creates much needed space for Yao to operate.
Yao Vs Bynum if someone dare to say that he is going to eat Bynum alive if no double team against him, that guy=Yao), taking Pau Gasol out of the paint and let Yao Ming operate his moves against Bynum= good thing happen for the Rockets team.
And if somehow we can manage Camby (he lives in Houston) to sign with us for cheap, we are good to go against anyone in this league.
Damn, all of those thing would never happened if our GM isnt Morey, damn more I explorer more I think Morey isn't normal human beings.
In Morey we believe
