My choice would be option #2.

The 95' Rockets that won only 47 games in the regular season were down 2-1 against the Jazz in the 1st round, and then down 3-1 against the Suns in the 2nd round. That Game 7 against the Suns was a nail biter, and Elie's shot put the Rockets up by 3 in crunch time.

Visually, the play was perhaps less dramatic than say a contest jumper or a facial dunk. However, Elie's shot marked as the turning point of the Rockets' cinderella run. They went on to beat the 1-seeded San Antonio Spurs in 6, and then swept the Orlando Magic - the other #1 seed.

That shot is a wonder to remember as we'll never see a team like the '95 Rockets, .

Hakeem faking out David Robinson.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I think Kenny Smith's clutch three pointer after Nick Anderson's four consecutive missed FTs has to be a nominee.

McGrady's 13 points in 33 seconds were impressive as well. Sure, it's a regular season game but it was the greatest clutch performance by an individual.

There's no doubt it's Hakeem's block.

John Starks to this day says that the shot felt good, was on target and he was completely confident it was going in and the Knicks would have been champions.

One thing is for sure, it's a tough reminder for long-time Knick fans. Now that was some good D right there!

That may be a top10. Only time will tell.

I'd add Ralph Sampson's buzzer beater against Lakers, guess it was 1986, not sure

If Hakeem doesn't block Starks shot the Knicks are champions as they were up 3-2 and the Rockets were only up 2 points and Starks shot was a 3 pointer.

the Elie shot was in round 2, there was no guarantee the Rockets would win another 2 series after that especially without HCA. Whereas the block on Starks meant a game 7 of the NBA Finals at Home.

You can certainly make an argument either way. Looking at the bigger picture, I think Elie's shot was way more symbolic to the team and that entire season.

THE BLOCK definitley... its not 13 in 35... but it gave us another day to pursue our first title :D haha. BTW TMAC's performance was amazing but he couldn't even get us out of the first round, or anyone for that matter...

Morey doesn't even touch Hakeem's legacy until at least 2 trophies come in.

I think these responses seperate the long time Rockets fans from the 2002 and beyond Rockets fans.

Obviously not the best play, but Mac's Dunk on Bradley was pretty sick....
