Delmas, a second-round pick out of Western Michigan, became the first Lion to win defensive rookie of the month since the NFL created the award in 1996.
"You can't let this affect your play on the field," Delmas said. "You can't get over your head. I gotta stay humble. I just gotta do what I've been doing before: that's practicing hard and producing in the games."
Delmas returned a fumble 65 yards for a touchdown in a 45-27 loss to the Saints in the season opener and has 17 total tackles and three pass defenses in three games.
