My guess is Zack told him not to say anything but that Coach pulled him aside and said he's penciling him in to start Week 1, Zack then hopes Bartender has a high post count on some football forum site and then leaks the info in a natural and plausible fashion, his high post count and history creates some momentum in the board and a couple people start buying into it, and then PFT catches wind of it and launches a story about how Zack Follet is a starting player and they are the first to break the news, and Zack reads it and chuckles and texts his friends and makes a blog video about his awesomeness. He is pretty awesome though.
