Supplemental Draft to be held on Monday

Post#1 » by Piston Pete » Thu Aug 18, 2011 6:21 pm

1) Do you want the Lions to draft Terrelle Pryor?

2) If so, what round would you suggest we do so?

Personally, I wouldn't mind it if we got him in the 4th round or after, but no way to anything before then. Switch him to WR (and emergency backup QB) IMO.

No. I'm thinking he goes to the 49ers in the 3rd or 4th round.

He's suspended for 5 games too. I wouldn't put in any bid until we first could confirm if we can trade one of our 3 QBs for more than what I think they are worth. If we can, then I would put a 7th on him blind, because I don't really know any of the complete inside info surrounding his profile as a prospect. It would take "x" amount of hours to research him in order to possibly justify a higher value, and in the absence of that I can't render any substantive opinion beyond that. He's seemingly too much of a schmuck to take a chance on without proper investigation.

I suspect he's going in the 3rd or 4th. The Lions have no interest; they are very happy with their QB situation as it is.

The Lions do have interest in Caleb King, the Georgia running back who is in the draft. He has potential, decent between-the-tackles runner with some wiggle. Criminal history and his educational career (he has not passed a class in two years) are not on his side, and his coaches didn't exactly come to his defense. He could pull a 6th or 7th.

You know the lions they will over bid a 5th rounder on Caleb King if they want him.
The 6-7 round picks is locked up because of tampering. What a mess the lions got into.

And that's why I constantly complain because we make a massive amount of small mistakes that collectively have stunted our growth. We should have every team in the NFL crippled in comparison to us by now with all of the benefits we picked up from being a massive losing team in the past. We don't know how to maximize and capitalize on our opportunities, nor do we know how to stay away from heavy price/talent options as well as properly scooping up the best low price/talent options, it's really frustrating. Right now we should be arguing about who has contributed to us winning more games, Barry Sanders, or Tom Brady, as opposed to worrying about supplemental draft players. Uggh, and double uggh.

Pryor reminds me of Andra Ware so i don't think the lions will go after him.

NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello said the Lions cannot use their sixth-round pick Monday because of their pending punishment for tampering. The Lions can, however, use next year's seventh-round choice if they agree to forfeit their sixth-round selection.

Pryor went to the Raiders in the 3rd round. He was the only guy taken in the supplemental draft. Heres to hoping Caleb King realizes just how beneficial going for the Lions could be.

If the Raiders like him in the 3rd, I wonder if they could have still got him with a 4th round pick. That would have made it a really sweet deal for Al in his mind. Or maybe they did drop a round to try and cheat and get a steal, maybe they wanted to spend a 2nd on him but gambled by ONLY spending a 3rd? Which could be the top pick of the round anyhow. lol I would love to see the list of how many teams put in a bid and what round. Oakland has a pretty crappy team so they better keep him on the field and experiment a lot and try everything they can to find a gimmick role for him if not a traditional one.

The Raiders already dealt their 2nd and 4th round picks next year. Now they don't have a 3rd either.

2nd round pick went to New England for backup tackle Joseph Barksdale and 4th string RB Taiwan Jones, who is no lock to make the team.

3rd rounder is Pryor, who will not sniff the field this year or next

4th rounder is Jason Campbell, their erstwhile starting QB who would be the Lions #4 QB.

It hasn't come out yet who else bid but supposedly at least 3 teams did.

What would the Raiders have given us for Shaun Hill I have to wonder? See I think they would be a good candidate for a Stafford trade cause who knows what kind of massive bounty we could get for him. How come more teams don't understand that good players are always worth more in trade to the Raiders who overvalue people like crazy if they have the right circumstances. Is this the year that Seymour wins the SB for them without any help? lol

Wow Caleb King signed with the Vikings. That seems odd cause AP and Gerhart are locks to make the team, and they also have Lorenzo Booker who has had 2 good PS games so far with over 5 yard averages both games, plus they have Tristan Davis who has only carried the ball once in the PS and that was a 35 yard TD.

This is too brilliant to not work. I'd also give them Aaron Brown, he's a fast dude too.

RB Aaron Brown to the Raiders for RB Bush -- McFadden's too fast for Davis to trade him.
