Favorite Ray King moment in history....Fox Saturday afternoon baseball, Caray calling the game and camera pans to the Pen where someone is raking dirt...Caray goes "That must be that Ray-King guy I hear so much about". Hilarious.
Go Bucks!

He was very very good his first time here, not so good the last couple of years though. Certainly better than some of the stiffs Yost has been trotting out.

I've always liked Ray King. This makes me happy.

I live in DC, so I've been able to see him a decent amount at RFK.

He's been okay. Certainly still capable of good situational work.

I guess that's the excuse Ned is using for pulling Shouse. "Boo-hoo he's my only lefty, I can't overwork him..."

King better only be a LOOGY. If Ned doesn't use him as such it's just more ammunition for him to get fired.

Why because our bullpen has been so great? Yeah right. He is GREAT agianist leftys. and has a 3.0 ERA since the all star break. USE HIM WHENEVER YOST.

Yeah he's great against lefties and lefties ONLY.

vs left- .161/.270/.290/.560
vs right- .328/.413/.625/1.038

He will not and should not be ahead of Cordero, Turnbow, Linebrink, Wise, Capuano, Spurling and McClung against righties.

Should be ahead of spruling and mclung.

He has done better since the all star break agianist righty and leftys for whatever reason I cant wait to see him. Is he in tonites game. I expect he wont be. Unless he pulls a kevin mench .

Not that I expect this team to make the playoffs anymore, but since it is still possible, I was curious about the Ray King acquisition from a playoff roster perspective.

I was under the impression that the deadline for a player to be on your roster and also be eligible for your playoff roster had passed already.
If so, then Ray King wouldn't be of any use to us if we actually do make the playoffs.

Is that correct, or not?

Not that I am against the trade just because Ray King couldn't be used in the playoffs. We need to MAKE the playoffs first before worrying about that.

But all the same, I am curious.

You are correct GAD. Players must be on the roster by September 1st to be eligible for the playoff roster.
