He's projected mostly as a mid-late 2nd/early 3rd. If he slips to us in the 3rd, I don't see how the Lions can pass him up. Our CBs are god awful and he's very explosive.

New mock drafts has us getting Suh with the number 2 overall if Jimmy Clausen gets chosen by the Rams number 1 overall.

We're going to get one of Suh/Berry at #2. But what about the other picks?? Lions will have at least 8 draft picks, maybe more depending on the compensatory picks

1st- DT Ndamukong Suh or S Eric Berry
2nd- DT Arthur Jones or a RB
3rd- CB Donovan Warren
4th-
5th-
5th-
6th-
7th-
Comp-??

If we get Suh, it might lessen the need to trade Sims. Sims was great when he had Big Baby protecting him by clogging the middle. Suh could have that kind of an impact on the LB core....

1 - DT Suh (Nebraska)
2 - OG Iupati (Idaho)
3 - CB Warren (Michigan)

or

1 - CB/S Berry (Tennessee)
2 - OG Iupati (Idaho)
3 - CB Warren (Michigan)

Not sure what round he projects to, but the more I read about RB Joique Bell (Wayne State), it sounds like he could be the steal of the draft.....

I was thinking about taking an OG in the 4th, John Jerry. In the 2nd round, I'm warming up to DT Arthur Jones (even if we get Suh).

Defense:
RDE: Jason Hunter
RDT: Arthur Jones/Grady Jackson
LDT: Ndamukong Suh/Sammie Hill
LDE: Cliff Avril
OLB: Ernie Sims/DeAndre Levy
MLB: Larry Foote
OLB: Julian Peterson
CB: Donovan Warren
FS: Ko Simpson
SS: Louis Delmas
CB: William James

Not sure how much of a need DT will be after getting Suh. We'll have guys like Jackson, Hill, Cohen, and Fluellen here already. OG has been one of our weakest positions over the past decade....

DT is still a major need. Hill isn't ready to play. The only reason he's started is because we lack talent there. Cohen and Fluellen have been benched repeatedly due to poor play, bad effort, and repeated mistakes.

OG is a need, as is OT. In fact we could probably use an entire new O-line. Unfortunately, this is a defense-dominant draft. Not much offense talent. Not even on the lines. I would rather draft defense first and foremost and either sign free agents to fill in on offense or wait entirely until next years draft to stockpile O-linemen.

It would be nice if we could package or consolidate a couple of our DTs for one better DT. Same goes for every position on the team. I wouldn't mind trading 40 men for 10 that are a little bit better.

What about moving Gosder to RG and drafting a RT? this as opposed to drafting a RG. Gosder has moments of good play, but he seems like a liability at tackle at times. Hell move Backus to LG as well and try and draft for both tackle positions???

Personally, I have a plan I have already mapped out and it involves trading all of our OL players on the roster, every single one, and rebuilding brand new with a different mindset in place.

Although that is more of a secondary strategy, whereas my primary initial strategy is more likely a scenario that I hold onto any combo of Raiola or Gosder, whether one or both, but in those plans Raiola is going to get phased out in the 2011 offseason most likely or 2012 at the latest, and in a case where Gosder is kept, he would be upgraded as the 5th and final OL upgrade in the 2012-2013 draft. At that point we would have arguably the best OL in the NFL and possibly one of the best of all-time.

I've been saying move Gosder and Backus to LG and RB all season and just getting two new tackles.

Donovan Warren is projected in the early 2nd round in almost every mock I've looked at so far.

I've only seen him as a late 2nd early third. Some mocks don't even have him on their mocks at all.

The worst pick we could now get is 3... from mlive please and thank you

http://www.mlive.com/lions/index.ssf/20 ... elimi.html

which means at least two of Berry, Suh, McCoy or Okung will be on the board...

What if the Rams win this week? How does their strength of schedule compare to ours? Even if they win, would they keep the #1 pick?

we would have the number one pick right now if STL and DET shared the same record. Who knows how it'll be next week though. I do not wanna give up number 1 draft pick money though.
