He'd be a good stop gap guy, imo.

a 1-yr deal for either can only help us. Smith is injured and might miss all of 2010 despite what he thinks. And our coaching staff doesn't seem to like Aaron Brown beyond kick returns.

Neither are surprising to me at all.

He's honestly the only high profile FA I see us signing... and he's not even that high profile anymore.

Finally somebody that doesn't like DeVries as much as I don't like him. VandenBosch isn't much better though, I'd rather have DeVries than VandenBosch though because he's cheaper and neither of them have a future at being the DE we need to get into the playoffs, so might as well take the cost savings. I'm sure Mayhew likes VandenBosch though, he's right up his alley of being the kind of player he likes; mediocre journeymen and a colossal waste of time and money. Uggh.

Coming soon, according to what I just heard. He wants very much to play for Schwartz again.

Good inside/out pass rusher, very good in nickel packages because he can swoop inside and stays off blocks well for things like screens and draws. Not the marquee player he was next to Haynesworth but he's a definite upgrade to anything the Lions have already.

I just got to Indy and I'm dead tired, so I'll dig more tomorrow. I'll put stuff up on the main page tomorrow night but I'm hoping to talk a little with a couple of Lions position coaches and I'll share any of that here. I've been corresponding with one of them about 3 times a week since the Senior Bowl.

Thanks for the heads up man.

I love how Jim Schwartz says that the team is open to anything and people turn that into the Lions saying they'll actively pursue LT. Now I think Mayhew will call LTs agent to question about him, but I highly doubt they'll chase him.

Yeah, I noticed that. It's petty journalism.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

According to ESPN, Arizona could be looking for a 2nd round pick for Boldin. I would trade the 34th pick for Boldin without hesitation. Much more so than I would for Glenn Dorsey.

#2- Suh or McCoy
#34- Boldin
#66- best CB available
#101- best OL available

Rounds 5-7 best available talent

I wouldn't look to a RB early in the draft, but if one was available late (like LeGerrette Blount, Ben Tate, Joique Bell, etc) I'd grab him. There will be RBs available in free agency and Aaron Brown should step up.

I'd much rather get Dorsey for a 2nd then Boldin. I'd be all for getting Boldin with our 3rd, but not 2nd. Dorsey is still very young and if I'm getting rid of a 2nd, then I'd want a player that can grow with the team at that pick. Boldin could very well be nothing but a rental.... and when you can get a possible all-pro player in the 2nd round of this very deep draft, I want a player that will play with the team for at least 6 years.

No way I would give away our 3rd for Cro. I would give a 6th for him plus a player, but not a 3rd for a player that didn't even start for SD. I'm tellin' you. Kevin Smith is on his way to SD.

News out of Arizona (wiretap) is that they are going to release S Antrele Rolle. He would be GREAT next to Delmas....put him VERY HIGH on my priority list this offseason. Would make passing up on Thomas/Berry much more easy to swallow.

Antrel Rolle would help next to Delmas. Is it possible for the Lions right now? I hope so.

CB- Antonio Cromartie
SS- Antrel Rolle
FS- Louis Delmas
CB- ???????????

Still need a CB but our secondary would improve.
