OK guys so regular season is over, its draft season time. Whats your pick, as of today?
For me, if he is there, it is Amukamara at 13. If he is gone, I want Nate Solder

Cosigned with this pick, also hearing buzz about Mark Ingram or Akeem Ayers.

Re: Draft Talk
I would like to state that if Prince is not there than i am also very much on board with trading down. 100%
As to Kells point, I am skeptical as to whether Prince will be there, but he definitely could fall. I do not think he is a top-8 lock at all

Re: Draft Talk
I would put good money that Prince will last past 8. I think there's a decent chance he falls beyond Detroit. Just not getting the sense they are infatuated with him...or a 1st round corner for that matter. I'll know more at the Combine. It's at that point where everyone will start putting Jimmy Smith over Prince because he's bigger/faster/stronger and coaches realize he allowed just one completion in his last 7 games.
I think the battle between the offensive tackles in Indy is going to be something else. Solder could distance himself as the #1 or he could drop himself to 5th or 6th best tackle. Castonzo could do the same, though he looked good enough at guard in Senior Bowl week he won't fall much from the 13-20 overall range. Carimi could make himself #1 with a strong showing in agility drills. Sherrod could significantly raise his stock with workouts and interviews. If Tyron Smith shows up above 295 (I'm betting he doesn't) some teams (not the Lions) will put him #1. Watch out for Ben Ijalana from Villanova too, if he's healthy he can work out his way to the 1st round. But all are vulnerable to big falls too. Makes mock drafts real fun right now

Re: Draft Talk
Starting to agree Iceness.
I've been researching the CB's from this draft class....and the more I watch Prince, he does appear a little slow and less aggresive in his tackling. Jimmy Smith seems to be pretty well-rounded in his coverages and appears to be the better tackler of the two.
Another prospect who might fall to us in round 3 who looks pretty good all-around is Ras-i Dowling out of Virginia. Not as good a cover man as Jimmy Smith, but very physical.
1) CB Jimmy Smith
2) OLB Bruce Carter
3) CB Ras-i Dowling
4) OLB Jabara Williams
5-7) Depth on the OL, RB, WR

Re: Draft Talk
I'm a big Dowling fan. He had a bum knee last year but heading into the season he was atop most pre-draft boards at CB. He's big, he's physical, and he has the closing burst and power that make your eyes pop out. I'm worried about his knee though, he skipped the Senior Bowl because of it and it should have been healed by then. He was a top 20 caliber pick before the injury. Smart guy too, not your typical meathead or cocky persona, kind of like Asomugha in that regard.
A couple of later-round corners I like:
Ryan Jones, NW Mizzou State--he was the best of the lot at NFLPA practice last week, though it was so freaking cold and the WR/QB crop was really lousy so I try not to get too excited. Good size, showed great innate ability to jump routes and make plays on the ball. He's a straightforward press man corner, not a zone guy at all. Should be there in the 5th round.
Curtis Marsh, Utah State--just saw him for the first time a couple days ago, almost by accident as I was watching Boise State. He was all over Pettis (a 4th-5th round WR) and has great length, good instincts. He is a little grabby, got a PI call and a holding call. Saw clips from Fresno State game, he was more physical and again showed a great nose for the ball. Good tackler, not much of a hitter for a bigger guy. He was supposed to be at the Senior Bowl but he had a bad hammy. Converted running back, which means upside galore. I suspect he'll go in the 100-120 overall range.

Jimmy Smith is one of the worst tacklers I've ever seen. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

They clocked him at a workout last summer at 4.33. I don't think he'll beat that time but even so that's amazingly fast for an OLB. He's got a lot of Ernie Sims to him, almost too fast for his own good.

Re: Draft Talk
I worry that he was mostly a DE while at Nevada (played some OLB, especially early on at Nevada). Can he make the switch to a 4-3 OLB?
