I wouldn't mind Sheppard on a short contract to help mentor the young guys and fill in if needed. I don't think he should be our #1 CB. I'd still want to draft someone. But he'd be a great lockerroom guy and a good leader for the youngings. Much like Larry Foote was with DeAndre Levy last season.

According to Tom K (mlive), the Lions do not have interest in Lito...FWIW

Kowalski shot down a rumor that didn't even happen. All the original article said was that the Bears and Lions showed interest in Lito. Tom then goes and said the Lions never considered bringing him in for an interview. No one said they did, they said the Lions showed interest in him. Not that they wanted him, not that they were going to interview him, not that they were going to sign him... but that they inquired about him.

This is why Kowalski is a joke. When he's not bashing the Lions, he's bashing other articles even when he bashes them for things they did not write.

To be fair, it seems as though Tom is dismissing the initial report as fact. Per Tom, the Lions are not interested. In the initial report, it says they are interested......one is wrong.

The initial report was about the Bears and Lions having shown insterest in the Sheppard, Kowalski said the Lions had no interest in bringing him in for an interview. Neither has to be wrong.... Someone just likes to argue points that aren't even presented.... but the FreeP keeps him on payroll. *shrugs*

KC nabs Thomas Jones. crap. Im not sure i get that since it looked like Charles at the end of last year was ready to be the full time guy. And i thought they had another youngish guy there....

we need a RB badly.

Free agents are slimming considerably; Ladell Betts and Justin Fargas are the only two solid ones left IMO. Have no interest in LT, Westbrook, or Larry Johnson. Any way Schwartz possibly puts in a call to LenDale White? I think he's restricted though.....depending on the compensation (if any), he could be an option. Anything higher than a 4th rounder, and I'd pass.

Papers had a story that we'd likely be targeting a RB with our 2nd rounder....

Betts isn't solid. Fargas could be an option for us... but I don't expect the Lions to pick up a low tier RB until at least after the draft. If there was a very good one available, I could see them making a move... but there isn't. Mayhew will look for a RB in the draft and then if he doesn't get one he likes, he'll pick one up in free agency.

Lynch is available. He wouldn't cost anymore then a 4th round pick and is the workhorse power back that we need in Detroit. I'd give up our 5th round and switch 4's with them for Lynch... and he's only 24.

Why is Lynch available? And especially, why for a mid-round pick?

I'd send our 4th for Lynch. He is only 23 and still has alot of game left in him. He's experienced. He just needs a new team and we need a #1 RB. We probably would have used that pick on a RB anyway.... why not get a proven one with the pick?

QB- Matthew Stafford
WR- Calvin Johnson
LT- Jeff Backus
LG-
C- Dominic Raiola
RG- Stephen Peterman
RT- Gosder Cherilus
TE- Brandon Pettigrew/Will Heller
WR- Nate Burleson/Derrick Williams
FB- Jerome Felton
RB- Marshawn Lynch/Aaron Brown

draft a LG in the 3rd round.... sign some depth guys. Not a bad looking offense at all.

He said that he was only going to a title contender. We had no chance.

1) Would you trade #2 overall for the Bill's 1st, 2nd, and Lynch?

2) Would they do it if it meant they got Bradford?

Any news as to why the Texans aren't even offering him anything? Is he damaged goods?

Nah, he's not that old, and he had a very productive season last year. Maybe the two sides just think it's time to split.
