I also use proper punctuation (usually) and thinly veiled sarcasm. These are not the droids you're looking for.

Like Stafford, Peyton Manning threw a 1st quarter interception. Hmmmmm. He only completed 53% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Painter was 5/6 with a touchdown. Over double the passer rating!
Opening Day starter?

Leinart's been released. There had been reports of the possibility, but it's still surprising.

I know Leinart hasn't been a boom, but he's hardly been a bust either. Sitting behind Kurt Warner is hardly punishment. And now when he got his chance to start, he does well. He was the best QB on the Cardinals team during the preseason. Sounds like a McDaniels-Cutler situation all over again. I think the kid will latch on somewhere.

It's kind of funny that this Matt Leinart quote came out the day after he was released:

QB Matt Leinart (on Ken Whisenhut): ” Just looking back at my rookie year, what we were as a team until now — it’s night and day. That’s due a lot to his philosophy and the attitude and discipline he’s brought to us. He’s been extremely hard on me, but I think it’s helped me to be mentally tougher and I think all that will pay off for both of us.”

It's from a Sporting News article ranking coaches and including one player from each of the top 10 teams with a quote fawning over their coach.

Yeah, I knew he wouldn't be out of work soon. Orlovskys still in the NFL? Damn, how in the hell does he continue to find a team willing to pay him for his poor performance?

And football is officially back!

Though tonights game was kind of blah. It sholuld have been a shoot-out i thought but not much really happened. Favre was pretty bad i thought, he seemed out of sync with his recievers pretty bad. except for Shiancoe.

Nice to see the Vikes lose though. i hate those guys

Kinda random, but I really like Rex Ryan. I'm not really an avid football fan so I dunno how good a coach he actually is, but every time I see him speak at a presser I'm really impressed with his attitude & approach.

I like his energy and passion but I think he is highly overrated as a coach and just not smart enough to get the most out of his team. He tries way too hard to be the cool or hardcore football guy that he just comes across as an unprofessional jock snob. Lots to both love and hate about his style and his game. Kinda random, but seeing that sick Cromartie INT was tough too since I thought for sure we were going to land him at the time. Pretty much every week the NFL highlights are all of guys that I wanted on the team that we could have had and passed over for a less logical choice, what a coincidence.

I agree with TSE. I really have a love/hate ting for Rex Ryan. He seems like a coach you'd love to play for, but you wouldn't want if you actually want to win. He has tons of talented players, but they just don't get the job done. Last night was a perfect example. Horrible game planning, horrible play calling, and it seemed like some players weren't on the same page the whole game. That's on coaching more than naything. That team wasn't prepared to play the Ravens. They are lucky the defense kept them in it.

Cromartie had a couple bone-headed plays, but he had some outstanding plays as well. Especially for being singled out with Revis on the other side. He's better than any of our CBs. :( But we didn't want to give up Maurice Morris with our 5th for him. :x

Correction: Maurice Morris and a 5 for Cromartie and Dede Dorsey. (or any of the cut RBs like Blount, or any of the UDFAs we could have attracted having one more open spot like an Arrian Foster or somebody to get lucky with for cheap)

Lions extend G Rob Sims for 4 years through 2014. Peterman and Raiola are signed through 2013. Looks like the interior of our line is set for a while.

Rob Sims so far have played very well no if we can find a palyer to replace Backus that will save our quarterbacks.

50/50 shot that we draft an LT in Rd 1 or 2 next year, if not next year then very highly likely the next year. Backus has one more year left, they probably wont be able to trade him or want to trade him, and they will be comfortable enough to ride him out one more year, plus we still have a couple of longshot OTs on the team, so my guess is that we probably won't go LT next year in the draft. We will do a combo of LBs and CBs with the first 2-3 picks, and then grab our LT the following year. I want a new LT too, but I am locked into CBs and LBs right now tentatively. Maybe even a bonus safety to give us a solid shot for good starters and depth across our whole secondary.

To me though, I wouldn't mind getting a premium CB-LB-LT all in this draft, but the only way to really do that well is to do all of A) trade down a few spots in Rd 1, B) consolidate our 3-7 picks up C) cash in some of our 2 dozen expendable players and get any currency we can.

TSE don't be surprised if the lions take a WR 1st rd
I think the lions will go with a wide reciever next year first round, they do not like bryant johnson only 7 catches what's up with that ? and Nate Burleson 12 catches not much better,so their going to be a need to upgrade at that position because they are still double teaming CJ.

Well we do need another solid WR, maybe not if we would have used the waiver wire the last couple years instead of plunking down money on more unspectacular vets. But I really hope the Lions stay away from a WR in the first 3 rounds, we need to load up on defense with those picks unless a solid OT prospect slips.

Agreed....we could find a decent WR in rounds 5-7.
