Well we had great effort at least in acting like badasses by bragging and posturing every time we made a good play despite being down on the scoreboard. We still win in the category of acting like jerks instead of concentrating on the game and playing serious football. Schwartz has been setting the tone with this "Jets-like" attitude, and our team is turning into being just as good as our level of professionalism and composure. I agree with Icness' comments above and think this is the ugliest 5-2 team I've seen in a long time. And there's no reason for it other than the Ford's don't aspire to bring greatness to this town, that's the core of the problem and the shamefulness. It's all about the people you pick, and we have made piss poor decisions at every level of this organization. Only the vast wealth of huge quantities of high draft picks have given us the power to still spike the win column for as much as we have so far.
Every single thing I have complained about, all of these negatives, they shouldn't exist, and we should have somebody in charge that agrees and demands GREATNESS, not ultimate loser-ship. We've had enough pain and suffering, now it's time not only to win, but to dominate. Mr. Ford - give me a call and I'll show you how to do this, that is what I do, and you should listen.

Stafford was definitely bad today. I think the inability of the line to protect him has finally gotten into his head. Even when he has time, he is rushing things and getting happy feat. Billick mentioned something similar to this during the game even. It could explain why we haven't been taking a bunch of deep shots the last few weeks (except for during broken plays), because he isn't letting the play develop and checks down in fear of getting smoked.
It reminds me alot of Joey Harrington quite frankly and that's terrifying. It's easy to sit here and tell him to nut up, but I'm sure that it is less than comforting to know that only Jeff Backus is between you and getting blindsided by Jared Allen or Julius Peppers or John Abraham or... you get the point

Agreed , at this point i would rather start Shaun Hill next game.Something is wrong with Stafford and i think it's mental too because he has the arm.
Tim Tebow delivered late, rallying the Broncos past Miami in his first start this season
this is the guy i wanted the lions to draft.

Hill will probably start next week since Stafford is now wearing a walking boot. As far as Stafford accuracy problems it has nothing to do with the OL. Being inaccurate and erratic was the nock on Stafford coming out of college. Even when we were playing well he was missing a ton of throws which was easy to overlook when we were beating up on piss poor competition. So far this season Stafford has managed one complete good game (against the Chiefs).

Re: Gane-7 Atlanta @ Detroit 1:00 kickoff
I heard more complaints about his decision making being occasionally freakish at times every once in a while and that he just drove Georgia fans nuts with random boner plays. To be honest though I would love to be his QB coach cause I like the raw material that he has to work with is awesome and I think a good QB coach and OC working together to teach him QB logic and pick good plays for that perspective could open up an opportunity for him to really kill it. But that would take redesigning the entire offense and the concepts with which these guys operate. I think the job would be much more difficult though than to fix the defensive scheme problems or the ST units which would be easy as pie. To me, getting those units working properly would be like child's play and even I couldn't guarantee success in perfecting Stafford, but I sure as heck would love to try, that is if I wasn't allowed to trade him and try to find a deal that I like.
That's kind of like my litmus test for choosing how to draft, if you aren't prepared to risk your career on any given draft pick, then you have no business picking that player. If you do that with every pick and you are willing to stand by your choices and know who you can make work for you, then you take those chances and make those investments and you don't let a guy you aren't sure about to cost you your job. It varies by round though and degree, like I would have staked my career on Mike Wallace in the 3rd round but not DW, and I wouldn't stake my career on Stafford as a #1 overall pick with that kind of money. Although head's up I would pick Stafford to pan out moreso than Wallace simply because he was the more premium prospect, but relative to the draft cost in terms of material and money, the proportions favor Wallace. Same with a guy like Legarrette Blount who we could have had for a simple waiver claim, that investment(/)risk was a phenomenal deal in my opinion and a better ratio than Stafford at #1 overall or Wallace in the 3rd. I just believed in Blount, ever since i saw how much of a badass he was and how much emotion he had in that studly unique body of his and other things I liked. He seemed like a good banger to me. I had never even heard of him until I saw that fight footage, and first thing I did was my eyes lit up and I said I gotta see some tape on this guy and I decided within an hour that I had to have that guy on my team, especially when I KNEW that nobody was going to want him after that and that one conversation with me believing him and turning him into my own personal warrior when nobody else wanted him that I could fire him up to another level, and a productive one. He would have been even better for me than he is for Tampa Bay once I got my hands on him and got into his head properly.
I just know from firsthand experience very well what it's like to have 100 people tell you that you are worthless and to have 1 tell you that you're solid gold. That's the ticket man.

Legarrette Blount who we could have had for a simple waiver claim, agreed we blew that one.Mike Wallace in the 3rd round but not DW.
The lions make mistakes on personal all the time.
And now i am worried about Stafford will he come out of his funk ?
i wish i know. But i think he is 1 dimentional he really can only be a shotgun QB he take to much time seeing the field or thinks too much when he is under center. As he rushes his throws too much and is eractic on his passes. He is also a slow running QB and can't aviod sacks.
i would rather have Shaun Hill in there you know he would hit the wide open recievers .Also it seems to take Stafford a whole first half to get going were always down by halftime.
The last 2 game could have been won .
With stafford its win of lose on how he plays and when he is off they pull him in the second half but the lions will never do that.

I'm sorry, this thread is getting pretty derailed....
Did I just read someone would rather have Shaun King instead of Stafford?
What next? Timmy Chang or Danny Wuerful? Please....
Can we all agree to not turn every week into "we should/should've trade Stafford" or "we should have drafted/picked up Blount??" Please?

You win some, you lose some, this one we lost.
Life goes on, and we still have a pretty decent team to boot. Not too much to complain about from where I'm sitting.
Stafford will be fine, he will continue to grow, as will lots of our young players. They are called growing pains for a reason, everyone has them, and we just need to be patinent with these Leo's, cause their ceiling is scary high.

Kellmellus means Shaun Hill, and this is the second time he/she said King by accident when talking about Hill.
And ok, you want me to start talking about the well over 100 other mistakes this team has made? Cause I have a ton more than that, and most of them recorded on a Word document. I have mistakes regarding every element of the game on and off the field that I have been keeping track of for years. And honestly it's really less than half because it's a moot point after a while and there are so many repeat mistakes of basically the same thing over and over and over again. Yeah I'm sure we want to open up the laundry on all that right? I can't talk about 2 items hardly let alone 102 items.
Again, I have spotted HUNDREDS of mistakes.
And I'm not talking about excusable mistakes, I'm talking about only the mistakes that were "categorically avoidable for certain" that I myself specifically would not have made, i.e. I'm not talking about having a choice such as having to choose to run vs pass on a 4th and 3or4 or some choice where it's not logical to disqualify one choice vs another, those aren't mistakes, those are just fair 50/50 chances and you pick one and then win some or lose some but you can't use logic to automatically win every time, those are not the categorical "mistakes" that I'm complaining about.
It's all about the logic behind those mistakes, and without invalid logic, those mistakes could never have happened.
