Former North Carolina tight end Eric Ebron told a team he recently visited that he expects to be drafted by the Detroit Lions.

I will be highly dissappointed if we draft Ebron, we don't need a TE with Pettigrew and Fauria on the roster. maybe in the 3rd round yes, not the first

IMO, we need to trade out of #10.

Either up into the top-5 for the guy we really want....

Or down to 15-20 and accrue more picks....

Per wiretap we are gaugin trade interest for Suh

"What the Lions are doing is standard operating procedure," one team executive said. "Just in case they don't think they can sign him, they're preparing for worst case. It's smart."

Anyone have a idea what sort of value we'd be looking at in return?

If its a first rounder, we definitely use it on a DT to replace suh

Are the Raiders the only team in the league that could take on his salary?

Suh for the #5 pick in the draft?

at 5, we take BPA

at 10, we take DT Donald?

I don't think we are seriously considering trading him...more of a negotiation tactic. His cost and only one year left I believe would kinda kill his trade value

as per sources, its only in case suh doesn't sign. which i think is at about 60/40 in favor of resigning. However if he doesn't , it makes more sense to keep him in a season we need to win, unless we can get a pick for him and draft a replacement.

The question is which team would be willing to make that trade, they would have to be wanting to contend today and think they could convince suh to stay. More than likely someone like the cowboys

I talked about the Suh rumors and some draft stuff with ESPN radio in Grand Rapids:
http://t.co/i1K01HpuKy

It's less than 1% they trade Suh. There's a longer story behind how Scott Bischoff (a good friend of mine) got the info and the motivation behind that. I can't divulge it but it's nothing sinister or anything.

I sat in my car and listened an extra five minutes after I got home. Definitely enjoyable, you did great. If you find out when you will be calling back give me/us a heads up!

Anyone know what happen to Bridgewater, he went from potential #1 pick, to 6th best QB in the draft? This is the same kid that turned Louieville from a Bball school to a Football school

Some poor workouts, low measurements, over-analysis. Not necessarily fair, though there is some legit criticism in there. I would personally still take him over Manziel and Bortles probably.

Honestly as a whole don't love this QB class. Certainly no sure things...a lot of red flags and projections. Would rather grab Derek Carr in the second if I were a QB needy team. Or even a guy like Fales way later.

Odds the Lions actually pick at #10: 35%. Wish I could tell you which way they are moving but not even they know at this point. Lots of moving parts and variables.

Personally I'm hoping they move back and take either Shazier or Beckham, both of which are possibilities. If they move up, don't assume it's automatically for Watkins either.

If we move UP, I'd love to get Clowney somehow. A front-4 of Clowney, Suh, Fairley, and Ansah would be beyond nasty.....ridiculous!

If we move down, we should target defensive help across the board - secondary help, DE, LBs, etc. We'd still need to take a mid-round WR and eventually draft some O-line depth....but top picks should be on the defensive side of the ball.

The move up is for Clowney or Jake Matthews. I have not heard Mack but I'd like it. Gonna be real hard to trade up higher than 4th though. Texans are supposedly asking for a 1st 2nd 4th this year and 1st next year for #1, and Clowney is going #1.

Wow, as valuable as clowney is, he's not worth that much for this team. I found it interesting that Watkins isn't even in the discussion, and somewhat relieved that he's not, espcially since this class is deep and watkins seems expensive. Would detroit be interested in moving up to #7-8 for evans? is the cost that much different than going for #4-#5?

I would give our 1st, 2nd, and 4th for Clowney -- but I'd have a hard time including our 1st in next year's draft too.

I might even do our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Clowney and their 4th rounder.

Otherwise, I look to trade back from #10 and accumulate picks.

The thinking with Clowney is that he would play right end and Ansah would move to left end. His run defense as a rookie says that Ansah could be outstanding on that side, Clowney more of a dynamic pass rusher at the more premium right side.

Ansah can also slide inside on passing downs and they could use a rush LB from the later rounds, or Whitehead/Hepburn from the current roster, at OLB/end hybrid in nickel packages.

We should trade back a few picks and get Dennard or Gilbert plus more picks.

Return to Detroit Lions
