Kinda surprising but
ALLEN PARK -- Detroit Lions veteran tight end Casey FitzSimmons, on the advice of doctors, has announced his retirement from the NFL.
FitzSimmons, 29, has had several documented concussions during his seven-year career and did not return to action last season after suffering a concussion against the Cincinnati Bengals in early December.
"If it wasn't for the concussions, I would not be retiring. It's frustrating because the rest of my body is still capable of playing at a high level in the NFL. "However, given the seriousness of the risk associated with continuing to play, I have to listen to the advice the team has given me."

I always liked him as a nice 2/3 TE who had better hands than you thought and always gave his all. Hardly a big loss, but a nice veteran backup TE that i wish we still had. All the best Casey!
