ok so San Diego will release Shaun Merriman this season when he's healthy

We need LB help/depth with all our injuries and even tho He probably won't sign in Detroit would you be willing to get him

Note: He's injury prone and a hot head but maybe he's had an attitude adjustment and will jut play lights out once again

Not sure what his injury situation is, but we are loaded at DE with cheap young guys and when he becomes healthy a team in the playoff hunt might just work out a long-term deal and we wouldn't have much of a chance unless they sign him to a one year deal. So it's a non-topic until after he is released and after we see his contract with a new team. It makes no sense to pay him big bucks and cut a young guy to play for us this year when our season might be officially over by that time. He's just not worthy of any discussion due to seemingly near total unavailability to us.

Yea i understand that he wouldn't come to detroit but he's a linebacker not a lineman .... I was just asking if you would want him or not talent wise

Hes a 3-4 backer, im not sure he would really fit our scheme.

Well it all depends on the price, he's risky so not likely considering I would expect there to always be 1-2 desperate teams that will overpay big bucks, and I tend to concentrate my time on looking for super values on clearance, so if his tag is in the clearance aisle then yeah I'd buy it.

He doesn't fit our scheme, would play a DE here and we are okay at DE. And he'd probabaly be looking for too much money. Besides his name, he really doesn't bring enough to the table to risk it IMO. Shaking up the team, dishing out the cash, playing him at a position he's not suited for. It's just a bad fit all around.

Now if a 4-3 linebackers comes available..... I'm all over it!!
