Any thoughts left this season or should we move on to the draft?

Both. I think the Lions come out strong this game. They want revenge for week one and will have extra time to prepare. But the draft is in sight and should be a focus now.

I don't want the players giving up now though. I want to see some fight out there. I want to see guys work on their games out there. There are still 5 games left and alot of developmental time left in games for these youngins. They shouldn't pack it in at all.

But for the Lions brass and the fans... the draft should be in focus.

The continued development of Suh and the young guys, along with consistent solid effort should be focused on. Along with our quest for Patrick Peterson of course.

Cutler's pissed we got rid of Wade.

As bad as our running game has been lately, don't count oon us being able to run the ball at all against the Bear's D.

To win this one, Hill's arm will have to lead us to victory....that and our secondary will have to limit Cutler's success.

That said, Bears-27, Lions-20

Who our QB sunday hills injured ?

The Lions, according to Adam Caplan of Fox Sports, worked out two veteran quarterbacks on Monday -- J.T. O'Sullivan and Josh McCown. Neither were signed as of Tuesday afternoon.

Calling it right now. Stanton will lead us in rushing on Sunday.

Good, now we can have Stanton either break through and show off how great he is or he can stink it up to ensure our low draft pick, a long overdue win-win situation for a change. Plus it's not like Shaun Hill was going to mesmerize people and raise his stock further, everybody knows what he can do and can make a trade offer if they need him next year. Playing him more would just give a chance to lose that too. Still not encouraging to see that we are finally doing the sensible thing but not because we have figured it out but because random luck forced our hand into this dual-positive situation.

Heck, we might even have time to burn through Stanton and experiment with Zak Robinson too! Maybe we will finally pluck Graham Harrell from the Packers PS and see if he could be of use. ;)

I agree. I'd bet the Lions have more turnovers than rushing 1st downs too.

Cherilus missed practice again and is very doubtful to play, which makes running the ball even tougher.

This is a game where the defense can save the day. I don't think it will happen, but pressure makes Jay Cutler do some very bad things.

Lions also signed cornerback Tye Hill, who previously played for the St. Louis Rams and Atlanta Falcons; he was cut by the Tennessee Titans before the season.

Tye Hill = one of the worst first round picks of the last decade not chosen by Matt Millen. I'll never forget Torry Holt asking him on the sidelines of a game during his rookie season, "You have played football before, right?"

Is Hill going to be our 3rd string QB this week? If not, then I'm unsure on why we signed him....

Stanton and Zak Robinson are the QBs for this one? I heard KVB is hurt too?

Absolutely 0 chance to win. We will be lucky to score more than 10

What a game. Lions up 3 in the fourth until the BS penalty on Suh sets up the Bears with a 1st & Goal for a touchdown to give them the lead for good.

Stanton didn't play poorly. The offense stalled in the 2nd half, but he was better than I expected. He's definitely not starter material, but he's a solid 3rd QB if he can get some consistency to his throws.

Jahvid looked healthier than he's looked since week 2. That big run to end the half, setting up Calvins touchdown is exactly what this team needs from him on a consistent basis. Hopefully, when he's healthy, he can produce like we've seen from him earlier in the season.

I don't know why the Lions get so conservative in the playcalling late in games. Every game is the same. Lions have a marginal lead, Lions play not to lose, and end up losing. We need to be more aggressive with the lead and look to put points up no matter what. We punt way too often when we have a chance to make plays and extend drives or look to score.

The call on Suh was laughable. When that gets flagged and 10 other hits just like it that I saw today didn't, there's something seriously wrong. I know it's dumb to expect a perrennial loser like the Lions to get calls, but this season has just been ridiculous. Both Bears games were directly handed to Chicago by the officials and that's embarrassing.

I agree with your assessment that the team starts to play not to lose deep into games. That's fairly true of most teams with a defensive-minded head coach but that's not an excuse. Look at how this team gets leads--by getting the ball to the playmakers. Running dive plays to Felton and Morris is not getting the ball to Calvin or Jahvid or Burleson or even Logan on the end around.

Then again, think about where Schwartz comes from and where Gunther Cunningham comes from. Jeff Fisher is a largely conservative coach, and Gunther springs from Marty Schottenheimer, perhaps the worst close-game coach in NFL history. Before being in Tennessee, Schwartz was a Belichick-in-Cleveland guy, back when Belichick had yet to figure out how to manage a game. I do see improvement and I give some credit for playing with a 3rd string QB, but next season Schwartz had better be winning a whole lot more of these.

At the end od the game the lions had 4 th and 11 at the 40 i was yelling at the tv tfor the lions to go for it !!!!!!!! of coarse they punted and got 20 yards and the rest is history.the coach blew it again by not going for it a fouth down and seeing the other team run down the clock this has happen before swartz never learns how to play the end game.

Well that one wasn't it 4th and 16 and with 5:30 left?

The biggest 4th down fail decision was the one at the end of the first half when there was only about 2:45 left and we punted from the 42 on 4th and 3. Not only did we have the field position and the yardage to go to make it in our best interest to gamble there, but because of the specific time on the clock not having too much left, we get an additional bonus incentive to go for it, since successfully converting it would potentially steal one entire possession from the Bears since we could have used up all the time. Not every 4th down situation can you say that's the case, and this one was which made it way more obvious to go for it.

I was also very upset on the 4th down bootleg play we tried with Drew that didn't work. Just before that time out was called you could see we had everybody spread out and Drew would have had an uncontested run if that play was ran, but then they changed the play and bunched everybody up and tried to get cute. Trying to get cute doesn't win football games, making good logical play calls does, and we went out of our way to give the defense exactly what they wanted to have, which is a ton of men close to the LOS to try and stop a 4th and short. There's no other better way to play defense on 4th and short than to hope your opponent bunches it up and makes a lousy play call.

Suh update:

http://www.detnews.com/article/20101208 ... Jay-Cutler

An agent for Ndamukong Suh has confirmed that the NFL has levied a $15,000 fine for Suh's hit on Jay Cutler last Sunday.

I cannot believe for the life of me that after the NFL reviewed this hit, they somehow saw enough evidence to fine Suh for what was basically a push in the back of a runner who was beyond the line of scrimmage.
