The severity of the tear is going to determine how much time (if any) that he'll miss. Jason Fox time!?!?!

I don't like Backus but it doesn't help us to have him hurt. Not sure Fox is ready but I would interested to see how he has progressed

He'll be fine by the start of the season and this injury won't affect his play. Backus is a warrior too, worrying about this would be like worrying about a scratch on Optimus Prime's fender.

Do you have information to the extent of the injury that I'm not seeing?

Sounds like wishful thinking

How do you figure that? The article even suggests he might be ready for Training Camp, and the season start is well after that. And why would you think this is a serious injury? You do realize that humans have this magical ability called regeneration right?

It's very possible that he won't miss any time, but coming out and claiming a partially torn pec won't affect his play at all (based on that article alone) is most certainly wishful thinking. I wonder why nothing else has came out.

Really?

I would say its more like a 1987 all-wheel drive Astro van with a leaky rear axle. Probably can be fixed but might cost more than it’s worth and you wouldn't want to trust your wife and kids on a long road trip in it.

I don't think it’s time to replace him at all costs but counting on him to play 16 games of high quality starts for the upcoming season makes me nervous.

Yes indeed it is more like that, but I'm not nervous. We have things to be concerned about, and at present time, our OL is full, unlike other positions, so it's a non-issue relative to the bigger issues.

Nope, it's a highly plausible realistic prediction.

We need to go after Matt Light.

Jared Gaither is interesting if he's cheap and becomes healthy. In a funny aside, Rotoworld had an article when Gaither was released titled "Ravens release blindside tackle Gaither", I think they got him confused with Mike Oher. LOL
