Game-7 Atlanta @ Detroit 1:00 kickoff

Detroit is coming off their first loss of the year to San Francisco, and the Lions did not look their best in any facet of the game. The loss was a hard pill to swallow for the team and fans.

Atlanta has a 3-3 record to show for it.

However, they are flying under the radar and should not be taken lightly. They are essentially the same team that went 13-3 in 2010.

If the Detroit Lions want to get back into the win column they will need to improve on their performance from last week. Maybe stefan logan can be turned into a running back.,

Because of Stafford inconsistancy lions will sqeek this one out 27-24 with the defence returning an INT for a touchdown.

Tough game to call. Atlanta is kind of an enigma, but certainly has the offensive firepower on the ground and in the air to give us trouble. And our offense has been so damn shaky and being possibly without Best doesn't help

That said, I think the loss last week and the Schwartz/Harbaugh thing will have the team really fired up. Especially at home. I think we come to play hard, the Defense is aggressive as hell and Calvin gets back to his multi-TD ways

34-24 Lions

I think we lose this one (hope not).

They'll have advantages in:

1) power runnning with Turner
2) Gonzalez/White/Jones keeping the secondary honest
3) Abraham vs Backus
4) We don't have Best
5) We don't have Ronnie Brown

Jones is doubtful at the moment, Roddy White has really been bothered by a hamstring himself. Their offensive line has struggled, so has their 3rd down defense. Falcons have gone L/W/L/W/L/W this year so they are due for the loss if you believe in those sorts of things.

This sure looks like a game where Stafford will throw 40+ times. Not sure I favor that but as long as he is sharp and avoids turnovers the Lions should win. I think the home team would win this matchup at either locale.

James Davis, the running back from Clemson the Lions signed to the practice squad on Wednesday, was put on injured reserve less than 24 hours after his first workout. The Lions signed fullback Matt Clapp to replace him on the practice squad.

Detroit Lions running back Jerome Harrison has a brain tumor that was discovered during a physical performed by the Philadelphia Eagles.

^^No. We'll have Morris and Keiland Williams.

Is it safe to assume we will be placing Harrison on IR?

That figures. In 3 seasons he's been healthy for exactly two games.

Running short on tailbacks, Stefan Logan could see additional carries against Atlanta Falcons

I'm on the sign TJ Duckett bandwagon. I think he's got some football left. He's only played 7 seasons and logged 700 carries in his career. At 30, he should still have at least 2 good years left.

I really don't know his status, he's been out of the league for 3 yrs, so maybe he's retired. But at 6 ft 255lbs, he's exactly what we need. Being that he probably lives here and is familiar with the organization, it makes sense. You would think with his hometown team the talk of football and in need of a RB he would come calling on his own.

We can sign a RB off of another teams practice squad,
example FB Eddie Williams in cleveland
FB Isaiah Greenhouse in Dallas
RB Xavier Omon S.F.

Practice squads for all 32 NFL teams

Omon is now a free agent, Cleveland waived him from their PS this week. He would not be a good fit, not much initial burst and his pass protect has been an issue. There was a guy with a similar name, Isaac Odim from Minnesota-Duluth that would be better. Real quick north/south guy with some wiggle. Last I saw he was on SD's practice squad.

I still like Joique Bell.

Haven't heard TJ Duckett in a while. I wonder what he's up to.

Celebrating 4 in a row :D

I like the idea of bringing back Brown, and pairing him with MoMo, and saving Williams for short yardage situations.

But the idea of a stealing a RB from SD peaked my interest, seems like they always have a surplus of backs, I'd take a gamble on him, and I like the description you gave.

Harrison was placed on the reserve/non-football illness list today.

The team signed Eldra Buckley as his replacement.

bad signing there were many better players than him to pick, the lions dropped the ball on this one.

I would agree. I would have rather signed a dozen other guys before picking up a guys like Buckley.

This is the only youtube clip I could find of Buckely, and its less than pleasing:

Well in his defense the first two runs he had no chance on. But yeah, not the most inspiring signing

Buckley = special teams, which is where most 3rd string RBs make a living. It won't make people clamoring for RB help happy but if he upgrades the coverage units it's a plus. I just don't see him ever carrying the ball and I do think the Lions need a guy that can get a handful of carries per game.

Don't see how he can help us on ST since we have too many players on our team at other positions that are better used for game day depth than him. He has no business being activated, we can't waste a game day jersey on that guy.

I always thought TJ Duckett was a terrible professional football player. IMO he has not had one good season in his entire career. Ohh wow a 4.9 average once where he had 100 carries, which is like a lousy 5 games worth. No thanks. Every year in the league his roster spot should have gone to somebody else and he should have never had an NFL career. Too many hardworking guys and talented players out there that could have made something of themselves if they just had an opportunity instead of a guy who has never done anything impressive. To bring him back to the NFL would be a slap in the face to fans who take the game seriously.
