Note to all coaches lessens learned from last Lions game the class will start!

(1) you do not throw into 35 mile and hour wind passes fall short (INT) so you run instead let other team make mistakes.

(2) you do not throw with a 35 mile and hour wind passes get overthrown (INT) and only bad things can happen !!!!!

(3) in the future in when we have heavy rain , snow or a wild wind in an outdoor arena you do not throw, Just run the football !!!!!!

(4)when the opposing team is only running and you only throwing in an outdoor stadium with awlful conditions you may want start thinking their may be a reason for that and change stategy A.S.A.P.

Class is dismissed their will be a test latter in the season on when to run the football.!!!!!!

Detroit will blow out Carolina since the match up is in the dome (no-wind).
Final score Lions 35-14

P.S. When will the lions fix special teams we need better players playing those positions.

Not sure why you posted most of that in this game's thread.....this game is at Ford Field, which is INDOORS.

Early guestimate; Lions 27, Panthers 20

If the Carolina team that went to TEN last week shows up, Lions win by 3+ TDs.

If the Carolina team that played GB or NO or CHI shows up, Lions will need a late FG to eke out a low-scoring victory. And I'm not sure that Cam Newton won't rally the Panthers to victory as the Lions have no prayer in covering Steve Smith.

Stafford's finger is more of an issue than he's making of it. The wind was certainly a factor but in order to rifle the ball thru the wind you have to make sure you can flip the fingers to get maximum spin. Stafford obviously couldn't do that. I hope it heals quickly.

The Buffalo Bills have announced the signing of defensive end Kyle Moore from the Detroit Lions' practice squad.

The 6-foot-6, 272-pounder has spent the entire season on Detroit's practice squad after the Lions signed him when he was cut by Tampa Bay during training camp

Sounds like Malone either got released or will be today, haven't seen it official yet. At least he tackled Hester well...

The Lions released Malone today, according to Sirius/XM host Adam Caplan. They filled his roster spot with punter Ben Graham, more insurance for the injured Ryan Donahue.

The Lions also signed rookie defensive end Ugo Chinasa to their practice squad after the Buffalo Bills signed Kyle Moore off the Lions' practice squad to their active roster

Great pick up, IMO. That guy can really practice.

The Lions are still probably good enough to beat the lousy team, but with no running game and a QB with finger problems, they'll really need to lean on their defense, which still in't well rounded enough to be leaned upon.

Lions have a running game they just choose not to use it.63 passes last game in a wind storm it's crazy! last game they averaged 4.5 ypc but choose to pass go figure!

Usually when teams are losing like we were last week, they tend to pass more.

Running the ball 4.5 yards per play down the field will kill your clock.

Passing it down the field in chunks, plus the fact that the clock stops for any incompletions, is usually the better way to go when attempting a comeback.

Can we please stop talking about the darn Chicago game in this thread? I'd gladly talk more about this in the Chicago game thread if you want.....

Piston Pete ,I was last post in the Chicago thread and you did not respond ? so i don't know what your talking about.
The reason we were behind is because the lions were passing too much chicago knew it and sat back and started picking off passes that why the lions need to learn their lesson and run more this week so it don't happen again.

Unless the lions see what they did wrong they are going to repeat it.

The Lions need to start the game running and keep it going in the first half against Carolina.
M&M and K&S will get the job done.

The Lions have thrown 365 passes, second in the NFL, and run 206 times, 29th in the NFL. They are 27th in rushing yards. They have run for 39 first downs, 29th in the league. They have four rushing touchdowns. You get my point.

Football Outsiders, a Web site devoted to advanced statistical analysis, says the Lions are the second-worst run-blocking team in the league.

So we should run more to give the offensive linemen more practice?

Love the end-of-game defense. Lions stayed aggressive and didn't go into a prevent shell. Produced 2 INTs and cemented a shaky victory.
