The playoff scenarios for Detroit:
If Detroit beats Green Bay, it is the fifth seed and plays the Dallas-N.Y. Giants winner

I really really want that 5th seed, lets hope GB rests their starters, and we come out hot in the first.

Gotta have this game. The difference between playing the Giants (I think they smoke DAL) and the Saints is HUGE.

The Turkey Day game wasn't a lopsided loss, the Lions just started slow and then had the Suh fiasco. If the Lions team that finished that game or the one that played SD last week shows up, Detroit wins unless Green Bay really wants it bad. The Lions of last week could pull off an upset even if Rodgers plays the full game.

We haven't won in Green Bay since like 1845 or something, so ending pretty much every bad streak in these last 12 months would be pretty satisfying. And I want no part of the Saints quite yet. Lets hope we build an early and large lead, put in Hill and some back-ups and cruise by 20

I would like to see RB Joique bell run in this game and see what he can do, we may have to depend on him in the playoffs.

Packers have deactivated anyone that matters. If we can't win this, we deserve the playoff loss next week.

If anything, this game may end as a shootout. Who knows though. There really is nothing to lose here.

Oh well, was an exciting game until the last 2 minutes, then it was another downer. Hopefully, they pick it up in the playoffs.

Thoughts:

*Secondary is still atrocious. yikes

*Matt Stafford had an unbelievable year. He gets overshadowed by the big names and slightly bigger stats of some of the other guys, but his numbers were crazy. I realize he was inconsistent and the numbers are elevated given how much we throw, but I never would have predicted a year like this. And no [major] injuries! Being his first real full season, it's frightening to think how could he could be in 3 seasons. The Sanchez v Stafford debate of old looks to be pretty decided at this point.

* Megatron...that is all

* Matt Flynn may have made himself a lot of money today. If I'm GB, I'm shopping him near draft time for picks

* Beating NO next week is going to be really tough, but you gotta beat the best to be the best. No matter the outcome, what a year

Well said ajax!

I wrote about the three third-year first round QBs a few weeks back (Stafford, Sanchez, Freeman) and how they were all struggling in various degrees. Since then Stafford has been absolute money, really took a major step forward with his consistency and his command. The other two continued to stink and get worse. Major credit to Stafford and to QB Coach Todd Downing for getting it right. Finally.

I don't like the way Schwartz handled himself on the Young TD that wasn't. He's veering real close to laughingstock status with the over the top antics. Quit using challenges on non-scoring plays or wasting timeouts, it's on you not managing the game as a coach as much as it is the refs being crappy. Plan on the refs being crappy, they usually are in Lions games.
