Any chance the Lions trade up to get another first round pick and get another offensive lineman?

Finally got a tackle to replace Backus this year or next. Couldn't have worked out better for us and great value. Start him at RT maybe and then move him to LT next year?

Trade back in to get Upshaw or Whitney, seriously. That would be awesome

To echo blackbird, Cherilus is hitting free agent year. Either Reiff lights his fire or the Lions let him go with a repacement in place with some experience. And when Backus retires after '13, Reiff slides to that side. Happy with the pick. Reiff was in the Lions top 15 overall.

If the Lions get back into the first round to get either of those players would have to give the Lions an A+ for the first round draft.

Just got it confirmed that Lions took top player available on their board. Mercilus was next in line.

What moves do you think the Lions will make in the next couple of rounds? Is RB a large concern with the health and off field issues with the current RB's?

I think you can get RBs later in the draft. Grab Defense for the next few rounds

a team passing 50 times per game, however, his inability to pass-block at the highest level with any degree of consistency will limit him. Moreover, I'm not sure how much higher his ceiling is -- Reiff has managed to find ways to get around his physical flaws (arm length; lack of optimal quickness in space

I still think DeCastro would have been a better pick. Go Lions!

Interesting that DeCastro wasn't up there....

Trade back up for Konz possibly?

Martin Mayhew will not take a guard in the first round, period. Not valued in that way.

They're taking a RB saturday.

The question is does Reiff start at RT day 1? You can't sit him can you? Move Gosder inside to guard, where he is better. Groom Reiff to take over for Backus in two years

What do you guys think? Any word on what we do with him Ice?

Who? Sounds like you have a good idea on who - or maybe a couple guys. I've tabbed Cyrus Gray as a good possibility. I like Lamar Miller, but would hate to see us take another RB this high in the draft.

Think later on RBs, like 6th/7th round. Cyrus Gray would be nice if he falls. Adonis Thomas, Chris Rainey (doubling as KR), Michael Smith is what I'm thinking. All are 3rd down back types.
