He really has done a great job of dismantling the franchise in the post-Barry years.
Support the cause

I think at this point, the Lions firing Millen would probably give them the best off-season in the league.
Even the Ford's did better than him. Maybe that's why the Ford's hired him? To teach the fans a lesson.

My Matt Millen interaction:
I met Millen at the Combine this year. I went up and introduced myself and told him I was a lifelong Lions fan, that my #20 jersey says "Sims" and it's not a throwback. His face went blank and his handshake went from firm to clammy almost immediately. For those who've never seen him up close, Millen is a very big guy, wears his 270ish pounds very well and is about 6'3" with bulging neck muscles. So to see a guy like that basically cower over that is very telling to me (FYI I'm 6'5", 225).
I asked him one question, "That Joe Thomas sure is something, isn't he?". Millen got a warm smile and winked at me before walking into the suite where they were interviewing players.

I've always heard what a nice guy he is, consistent winner on all levels. Obviously some skills really just don't translate.
I just hope he doesn't screw it up (again) this year, having such a great opportunity in front of him with the #2 pick.

I don't get it. Why would that freak him out? and isn't Ernie Sim #50? and didn't we retire #20 for Barry?

ummm that would be ex Oklahoma Sooners RB Billy Sims who wore the #20 before ruining his leg and retiring early. Then came Barry...
