Good idea. Gives Mike Williams a chance to shine in a system he is use to, while Detroit gets another shot in the draft... if it is a pick.

Yeah but I can't imagine its anything better than a 5th rounder.
Williams did have just 8 catches last season.

So we're going to turn the 10th overall pick into something like a 5th rounder? Awesome.

Whoa, pump fake. The Raiders just traded a fourth-rounder to Detroit to get Mike Williams and Josh McCown, this from John Murphy of Yahoo. I will link when i find one.
It works i guess, but giving up on Williams so early sucks. And McCown got a raw deal here, he never took a snap even tho i think he is better than Kitna
On the + side we keep stocking up picks and players

Agreed, Millen would be the guy who has his startes in in a 105-87 4th quarter score in December. Why not let McCown get some burn? We already know what Kitna does....Pick up a ton of garbage yards and throw the same amount of picks & TDs.

Yup. There were multiple times this year i was really hoping Josh got some time, but to no avail. I think he can still start for an nfl team, so good move by Oakland; they can play Josh til Russel is ready

Ha.
McCown has done more at receiver than Mike has at this point.

It was time to let him go.
he didnt really show any promise and although he might be secent in oakland i dont see him blowing up into something really special.
i wish we could re-do that draft year over... i had a feeling this was a bad pick right from the getgo.
But the future is now and i think Calvin is going to be 100x better and more productive then Mike. Calvin seems like he has very good work ethic and thats something the lions really need.

Could have traded for Moss, though. Mike Williams+Josh McCown=4th rounder. Randy Moss=4th rounder. It's the transitive property.
