Harris, 26, is listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds. He brings the size the Lions have been looking to add to their defensive front.
In three NFL seasons, he has bounced from Pittsburgh to Cleveland to New Orleans to Cincinnati to St. Louis and now to Detroit. He has played only 16 NFL games – two for the Browns in 2006 and 14 for the Bengals last season.

what this deal says:
1. Ron Curry was not going to beat John Standeford or Derrick Williams for a job.
2. Say goodbye to Chuck Darby

^ Both of which I am fine with to be honest. I'm okay with taking a flier on a young DT. Not an earth shattering move, but a low risk, medium reward kind of deal.

Curry wasn't some "oh my god" move, so trading him for someone that Scott Lineham liked isn't really that big of a deal.
I was always kind of bothered that a team as bad as the Lions added a guy from the Raiders to try to improve with.

cool.
Word is Curry had lost his speed. We had lots of receivers. We needed another DT. makes sense to me

Ronald Curry must have REALLY lost a step... A couple years ago I would've told you he was one of the most underrated WRs in the NFL, but to be traded for a guy most people have never heard of shows how much he's fallen.
As far as Harris, his size could possibly give us some versatility up front which Cunningham will like. In a blitz-heavy defense DL w/good size that can play both positions are always a help.
