Win or lose, if Cpep does not get to play I will at least be able to sleep that night knowing that we are actually trying to get a leg up for the future. You either make the playoffs or you don't. If you don't, then you HAVE to be preparing for the future otherwise you are shortchanging the fans in the long-term.
So pick one, or pick both if you want but at least pick one, either vouch for us as a playoff team, or make an investment into the future. Since we didn't make an investment into the future by playing Stanton today, then I EXPECT and DEMAND that the Lions make the playoffs this year. It was mngmt's choice to play the Cpep card, now they have to own up their vouching and make the playoffs. That's how I play ball if I'm in charge, and if I'm not in charge then I expect the same of the people doing the job in my place to follow those rules as well.
Get the job done and make the playoffs THIS year.

Because i am tired of fighting over the Qb's when really it's in the end it's a team effort in the loss, everyone's to blame special teams, defence, injuries hurt, and even the coaches play calling in the end.

Drew Rosenhaus reported from his Twitter page that WR John Standeford has re-signed with the Lions.
The 6'4", 206-pound wide receiver from Purdue has spent time with the Lions, Colts, and Redskins in his six-year career. Standeford takes the roster spot of Adam Jennings, who was placed on IR, ending his season. This move atones for the bone-headed mistake in Week 5 when the Lions only had four active wide recievers on the roster.
The Lions have also taken steps to shore up their secondary by signing CB DeMarcus Faggins.
The 30-year-old has 36 starts, along with 216 tackles, and five interceptions. He is also known as a brilliant special teams player. To make room, the Lions released Chuck Darby.
The Lions placed CB Eric King on IR
This move gives the Lions an extra roster spot as they constantly work out players, and discuss trades heading into next week's trade deadline.
On the practice squad, John Niyo reports that the Lions have released DeAndre Wright and signed DE Robert Henderson
Henderson, 6'3" and 278 pounds, was a sixth round draft pick of the New York Giants after playing his college ball at Southern Miss. He had worked out with the team on Oct. 6.
In another practice squad move, the Lions have signed Jervonte Jackson.
The 6'3", 300-pound DE from Florida Atlantic is a 2009 rookie free agent, who has played with the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He replaces Matthias Askew on the practice squad.
The Lions also signed recent tryout, WR Kole Heckendorf, a Wisconsin native.
The 2009 North Dakota State alumni is his school's all-time leading receiver. At 6'1" and 191 pounds, Heckendorf is viewed as a project who lacks an NFL ready body, or elite speed. He replaces Logan Payne.

I do like WR John Standeford has re-signed with the Lions. he catches the ball good
The 6'4", 206-pound wide receiver give the lion a player to catch the hail mary passes at the end of games, and in the corner of the end zones.CJ looks like he will be out against green bay so we may need a tall reciever .

I actually like Standeford too, was a big fan while he played for the Boilers. Good signing

Actually, you are supposed to use quotation marks when referring to a specific word to be spelled.
Can we get somebody that knows how to use correct punctuation when they are going to nitpick somebody for an insignificant typo mistake?

I have seen him play for many years, with multiple teams now. I am not impressed and not looking forward to watching him take yet another opportunity away from us to investigate Stanton. We already made this mistake last week and now we are about to compound it. He should be another team's problem, not ours. Also, it seems to me that he is often overrated as most people that I see talk about him seem to get sidetracked with some TD and yardage stats and QB rating numbers w/o properly adjusting for his high fumble rate. He also has other deficiencies that aren't easy to prove and are debatable.

Nah, just a lucky catch, but thanks for the compliment!
Although it would be nice if I could get the Fords to notice that so I could be empowered to fix the Lions!

ok....getting a little weird around here
on to the game discussion:
Is any one else worried that Aaron Rodgers is gunna tear us to shreds. I think he even gets his LT back (not that it matters, since we couldnt apply pressure either way). But seriosuly, he will probably torch our DBs. Best bet is to actually blitz and try and get to him. If we sit and drop guys back, he will pick us apart and destroy us.
Its time for Gunther to put his words into action and blitz blitz blitz

Agreed,we need more blitzing all season. Also we should have more screen passes it seems that evertime we do the we get good yardage then the lions stop using that play.I took the lions this week +13.5 hopefully they will win with the spot.
The Lions blitzed on 38 percent of their defensive snaps last week against the Steelers. Cunningham wants that ratio even higher, but his personnel are holding him back.
"It's difficult when you can't call something you have on a call sheet because somebody doesn't do the right thing. ... You lose confidence," he said. "The players have to give the signal-caller confidence that he can call it."

CPep DID have 3 fumbles but that was his first game action this year and it came against the most brutal hitters in the NFL. I really wanna see what he can do against GB defense, which is a good defense... just not on the level of Pitt. If he can't get anything going, then I'm done sticking up for the guy. But I'm not going to get low on the guy for doing everything right accept one bad throwing decision and fumbling the ball.

Re: October 18, 1:00PM DETRIOT @ GREEN BAY
The one thing that gives the Lions hope is that the Green Bay OL is pathetic, almost embarrassing. Jeff Backus would be their clear-cut top lineman, that's how bad it is. They're coming off the bye so it will probably be a little better, but it's still a real weakness that can be exploited...but probably not by these Lions.
I like the concept of moving Peterson all over the place, but he doesn't look comfortable anywhere yet, like he can't get into a rhythm. The DTs get no surge, and it's clear that Gunther doesn't trust the ever-changing secondary enough to give them the added responsibilities that go with blitzing LBs or safeties. Hard to blame him either, though there is some chicken/egg argument at play there. Hopefully Avril can play and that will help the pass rush sans blitz.
I expect Rodgers to throw something like 27-for-36 for 329 yards and 3 TDs, 1 INT.

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game
