Culpepper sucks. I give up sticking up for the guy. Ya'll were right, I was wrong.
I'm moving to Massachusetts.

Culpepper isn't horrible, he just doesn't fit this team. He's trying to make the same plays he made in Minnesota without the same personnel he had in Minnesota. He did the same things last season. His problem wasn't only his weight, it was his mindset.
Stafford isn't the player Culpepper was, he doesn't have the knowledge/experience Daunte does, but he's a better fit for the team and that's why he was named the starter. Daunte could be a very good back-up QB if he accepted the role and worked situationally. But when he's depended on and can't produce, he hurts the team.
I would actually rather see Stanton play behind Stafford than Culpepper. Stanton might be a better run QB than a passing QB, but he's also better suited to this transition team. If we could move Culpepper for anything (once Matt is healthy) I would do it instantly.

He was pretty bad today. That pick to Cullen Jenkins was absurd. Hes not a terrible backup...but im also on board the Stanton train right now. Drew should be the #2 QB when Stafford is healthy.

^shut up.. you were still wrong about Mark Sanchez.
And yeah, it was eye gouging to see him play today. It's like he didn't even care. Although he doesn't have a good history playing in Lambeau, he was just God awful yesterday. Makes me extremely happy we drafted Stafford. Even watching Sanchez lately, I'm happy we drafted Stafford. I can tell now that he is the real deal.

Sign me up for "drew should be no. 2". I didn't think Culpepper would look amazing, but I expected more like this. As bad as the Lions have been, I've never thought "Will you throw the damn ball already" so much until yesterday. Then he scrambles out and suddenly pulls up, and I'm like you really couldn't care less could you? Then I realized it was a hamstring issue or whatever, but still.
So lets finally see what Drew can do, unless Stafford is ready. Its sad too because Green Bay kept handing Detroit oppurtunities.

Actually, I'm pretty sure I was higher on Stanton than Culpepper all along, unlike one Mrs. TSE who was raging on and on about Culpepper being our real QB since we didn't draft Sanchez.

The name of the game in GMing in the NFL to turn a team from worst to first is to be able to have strategic foresight in being able to choose which battles you want to fight, and taking on all of these journeymen (older and proven to be unspectacular) players like Cpep and the others is just not the right path to gamble on. It's high odds to achieve mediocrity at best, and even if you win that gamble, you still lose. You have to maneuver around the paths that give you the greatest chances of bursting through the bubble where it is less crowded with average teams that practice illogical team building strategies.

I was raging on about what now? I think you are misaligned with what my position was on Culpepper and the conditions that I set for considering Sanchez as a draft prospect.
