You may as well pack it in this year if we lose to the Commies. They're probably the worst team in football even with Wentz.

Heinecke ran well against us last year. We did not run well against them last year (57 yards).
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Re: Commanders Lead Up
My optimistic prediction last week fell flat on its face. But I'm back again with another one because the Commanders are a terrible team.
I expect the offense to finally put together a solid game and we'll see GB bury the commies by three scores.

Can we acquire McLaurin before the game?

With or without? Because Heineke is probably better than Wentz.

"The Packers offensive line has been blitzed on the lowest share of dropbacks in the NFL, yet they’ve surrendered the seventh-highest pressure rate. Green Bay quarterbacks (i.e., mostly Rodgers) have only been sacked the 18th-most frequently — but that’s because they’ve gotten rid of the ball in a lightning-quick average of 2.49 seconds, faster than all but Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers."

All while having an all pro guard fail at RT, having a back T that was probably league average not getting reps, maybe the worst starting RG in the league that they tried to replace with a crappy back up center that was fringe NFL (Hanson) and a 3rd round pick that some hoped would be a starter that I don't even know if he has been active (Rhyan) and a very promising OL that looks like he will be above average G or T in the very near future (Tom)
I say all this because I think we have the players in house to fix this. I think the coaching staffs inability to figure out what to do and how a lot of the young guys like Runyan and Neumann seem to be regressing is a major red flag for this staff overall.
Andy Hermann suggested trying to lure JC Tretter out of retirement and I think that might be the right play. Swing Jenkins back to LG, start Tretter at C when he is ready, move Myers to RG and let Yosh and Tom battle out that RT position. I'm not sure if that would vault us back up into one of the best OL but it would certainly go a long way from how we are performing so far this season.

Re: Commanders Lead Up
The only explanation I can figure for Jenkins is he's still injured/has a lot of rust. He was great at OT last season.

A couple of rube questions: from casual observation - no science involved, how much of the non-blitzing is due to opposing defenses camping out on Rogers dumping a quick behind-the-line pass to an RB or a screen and demolishing those before they get rolling? And with the inconsistencies of the Packer O-Line play, aren't defense just relying on the D-line and Edge guys to disrupt drop backs - they don't need to bring extra help?
And the timing is skewed longer by Rogers trying for the home-run deep balls - but that's true elsewhere (with more success elsewhere)

I think it's mostly the simple NFL rule that you blitz young QBs way more than vets because those vets will see it coming and carve you up.Treebeard wrote:PintSizedBox10 wrote:https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/aaron-rodgers-deep-ball-struggles/

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Funny how he had no issues changing the line that was playing pretty damn great throughout the whole last season which ended up screwing us against the Niners in the playoffs but he's hesitant to make changes when they're playing awful. The fact that he made a change last season after 1 week or so of practice between the regular season and the playoffs but won't commit to one after almost 7 weeks makes it even worse.
