Really good win. Wasn't even as close as 23-3

Run the table, playoffs.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Really sloppy performance from the offense although I don't think it was awful. The Defense & Special Teams definitely won this game for them though. Glad we're in a position as a program where we can still easily sweep the Purdue, Rutgers, Northwestern part of the schedule

If that was a bad game now I'm pretty happy with the direction of the program. Locke is a bit worrying but I think he's probably better than 3/4 of the big 10 QB's

I'm already dreading what Abdul Carter is going to do next week.

It’s funny because with a little luck we could be arguing a playoff spot late in the year…

…or we could be praying to get bowl eligibility against Minnesota in the final game, which is honestly more likely.

We’ve reached an interesting point where Locke is solid…not too dissimilar to the olden days of Badger QBs. But with the portal out there, if he is simply a guy that isn’t good enough to play well against the big boys, do you consider an upgrade? Probably not…

I feel they'll probably look for a high upside guy. I doubt we'll see a TVD type of transfer next year.

Probably has to do with his ready they feel Mettauer is. If he looks to be solid, you could gamble on just spending your money on other upgrades.

Interestingly enough it does seem the Badgers are quite content burning the redshirts on some guys like Mettauer & Kevin Heywood. I don't mind burning a redshirt on a guy to actually play, but I don't understand why we would burn one just for Mettauer to hand the ball off a few times like he did this week and last. An extra year of eligibility likely wouldn't matter in a few years but it could

Don't think redshirts have much value anymore. If guys aren't playing they'll just transfer.

I agree it likely doesn't matter. But in the instance where Mettauer is good, but not NFL good it would be nice to have another year of eligibility for him. Just seems like bad process. I don't think he'd transfer away because they didn't let him go in the game and hand-off a couple times

yeah im not really sure honestly. seems like a lot of backdoor things go on. Especially now-a-days. I wouldn't be shocked if that promise to get some of these guys reps.

I'm guessing there will still be a redshirt on Mettauer, but still possibly stupid to get it this close.

Their plan is probably:
1. These final games are all tough so you'd expect Locke to go the distance. Mettauer could take mop up time if they're getting hammered by Oregon or something, but I hope they still only plan to have him go once. If Locke got hurt, Mettauer would've burned the redshirt anyways, but again, kind of stupid to run it down to the wire and only leave 1 game left. The bowl doesn't count, so that helps.
2. I'm sure he still isn't the starter next year, so they can just do it then.
3. If all else fails, they seem to be pretty lenient these days If he plays 5 games this year but only totals like 30 snaps or whatever, I bet the NCAA would still grant him one down the line.

I feel like they did this with Coan way back. It was the season before they implemented the 4 game rule, but they just gave him mop up snaps and people wondered why the hell they did. Ended up not mattering with Mertz/COVID year/transfer/he was just done anyways even though I think he could've had another season.
